Amazing Beauty Dupes! + Side-By Side Swatches

If there's one thing I love it's searching for a good dupe! I do have a few products which are supposed to be dupes of higher-end products but for this post I'm keeping this post to the ones I've tried both of. These are the absolute best of the best in my experience so I hope you enjoy!

Nars Orgasm, £22.50 vs. Sleek Rose Gold, £4.49

The Nars Orgasm blusher is famed for being flattering on pretty much everyone, however it comes with a hefty price tag, whereas the Sleek version is under a fiver. The main differences for me are that Rose Gold is more pigmented and the base is slightly pinker. I also find Orgasm a little more finely milled. Whether those factors are enough for you to part with £18 more is up to you!

I was really pleasantly surprised with the W7 palette! There are 2-3 shades in the middle-to-right of the palette that differ slightly from the Urban Decay but otherwise it's a pretty identical dupe! One of the things that always bothered me about the Naked palette is the awful fuzzy/felt packaging, I feel they should've re-released it with the tin packaging. I love that the W7 palette fixes this and even the applicator that comes with it is an upgrade from the usual. Yes, Urban Decay eyeshadows are incredible quality but I'm not convinced it's £30-worth better...

I definitely have mixed feelings about the Benefit eyeliner; I usually love their products but I just couldn't get on with this one. My mum absolutely loves it and I do like the finish but struggle to get to grips with using it. The Benefit applicator is a lot more sloped than the Maybelline, and I actually find the Maybelline easier to use! It comes out a little thicker, however it's just as black and pigmented. If you're not sure you want to spend nearly £20 on such a polarising product, I'd give this dupe a go.

I have both of these kits in Dark Brown and I love them both, as they pretty much do the same thing for me. The wax is perfect for getting the shape right whilst the powder works a treat for filling in any gaps. They even come with the same little set of tools. However there's one big difference; nearly £20! For me, it's a no-brainer; I'll be repurchasing the Sleek version. It's probably the best value product I've ever bought as I used it every day for almost all of 2014 and only just started hitting pan in November!

A word of warning; if you want the KIKO then get on it because it's limited edition and currently in the sale! It was well worth it even at full price. The shades are identical (including that unique red) besides the gold colour which is more glittery in the Dolce Vita, which you may prefer, depending on your taste. Even KIKO's packaging is beautiful for the price!

You know I'm obsessed with sheer lips and the Lip Hugs were the product that started it really! Saviour Will Come is the spitting image of Bobbi Brown's Carolina and the formula is ridiculously similar. If you get a bit in your mouth they even taste the same!

I have to admit I do tend to reach for the Bioderma as I find it gets makeup off that bit quicker and a small amount goes that bit further. Saying that, the price difference speaks for itself and if you can't or don't want to stretch to the Bioderma, Garnier's version is a more than adequate alternative!

I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe save yourself a bit of cash as a result! What are your favourite dupes?

  2. Fantastic post Jasmine!! And the swatches look impressive! Sometimes you just want to go for the original version, because there is a bit of snob in all of us, haha! But very often the dupe is more than enough for me, if the quality is comparable :) x

  32. Wow, these dupes are amazing. I saw a lot of good reviews about the W7 palette, and it's great for anyone on a budget. The Charlotte Tilbury one is a good dupe too, everyone was raving about that towards the end of the year. I could never get a long with the Benefit liner, I found the applicator so hard to use. Also agree with the Bioderma, I used the blue one for months before the Garnier version and the little tub last longer than the big Garnier one x

I definitely want to try out the Sleek Rose Gold blush now, and I'm very intrigued by the W7 palette because I can't even go near the original Naked palette - touching that fuzzy felt gives me shivers! It's a shame W7 isn't in many shops as it would be good to test out their products.
