2014 Year-End Favourites #2 || Lip Colours

Looking at these all together, I guess no one could accuse me of being inconsistent! I've never been a fan of lip glosses and the lacquers and liquid lip colours I tried this year just didn't really do it for me, so these are mostly lipsticks and sheer lip colours. I've tried to get a good spread of brands and price points in there, so I hope you enjoy!

This year I've really developed a love of sheer lip colours. So I've included both the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Carolina (£19.50) and the Makeup Revolution Lip Hug in Saviour Will Come (£2.50). These two are very similar red-pink light berry shades I must admit but they're just perfect for that light, low-maintenance daytime wash of colour. It was really hard to pick one from the Liphugs, as they're overall probably my favourite lip product of the year and I also really love the shades Save Me From Yourself and Keeps the Planet Spinning.

Continuing my love affair with sheer lips, I also have a Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle (£7.99) and a MAC Lustre Lipstick in Jubilee (£15.50). I was really struggling to choose between Pink Truffle and Sugar Plum to rep the Lip Butters but I have used Pink Truffle more (it's on it's last legs!) - it's just the perfect, hydrating brown-toned pink. Jubilee is a 'my lips but better' brown nude.

I have two more MAC lipsticks as my 2014 favourites: MAC Matte Lipstick in Taupe (£15.50) and MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig (£15.50). Taupe is a brown with a hint of terracotta, another perfect nude for my skin tone. Twig was one of my first ever MAC lipsticks and it's still a firm favourite. It's a mauve-y dusky pink with a Satin finish, which is almost matte but does have a slight sheen.

My final two are matte lipsticks on the opposite end of the price scale! There's Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl (£22), which is a gorgeous blush/mauve shade and so comfortable and non-drying for a matte. It was so hard to choose between this and the more berry-toned Walk of Shame, but I love a mauve matte! I then have e.l.f.'s Studio Matte Lip Colour in Praline (£3.95), which I would say is more satin/demi-matte as it has a very slight sheen. It's such a great formula and it's a lovely everyday brown shade.

I hope you enjoyed! What were your favourite lip colours from 2014?
