Yeah, I don't really have an excuse for this one; I was a woman possessed who had just received a large tax refund! These are all things I've wanted for a while so I'm definitely not experiencing any buyer's remorse, but still...I think it felt OK because it was £30 at this concession, £20 at that one as opposed to how much it actually cost me all in one go (which I refuse to calculate...)! I'm actively avoiding the shops from now on so I guess I wanted to do my beauty buys before the chaos of January sales. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and if you're braving the sales; I hope you bag yourselves a bargain!
First stop was Bobbi Brown. I'd been eyeing up their Sheer Lip Colours over summer but for some reason I just never went for it. I'd been using my Makeup Revolution Lip Hugs so much that when I saw the shade 10 Carolina (£19.50), I just had to have it! It's that gorgeous kind of red-berry shade that I've been loving this season and I know it will get a lot of wear. Secondly I got a (slightly similar-toned) Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in 10 Rose (£19). I'm usually really dubious of multi-purpose products but I remember I had one of these in a pink shade a couple of years back and it genuinely worked beautifully for both. Rose is again a medium berry tone and something I would wear for both lips and cheeks.
Next I made my way over to MAC and of course picked up some lipsticks. I got Dubonnet (Amplified finish) and Creme in Your Coffee (Cremesheen finish) (£15.50 each). I had been looking for Syrup (Lustre finish) too, but it was perhaps for the best that they didn't seem to have it...Dubonnet is an absolutely stunning dark red shade and Creme in Your Coffee is a sheeny pink-toned dark brown nude.
I finished the Selfridges splurge at Nars. This was a bit of an impulse buy as I'd maybe seen the Blush in Amour (£22.50) one other time and thought it was gorgeous. However when I swatched it, it was love! It looks a lot brighter in this picture than it actually is; it comes up a dark, slightly peachy, pink. It's also a completely matte shade.
As I had a Debenhams voucher I thought it was finally time to purchase a product I've been admiring for a while, which is the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar (£15). It's the kind of beige-y pink-y brown nude I absolutely love and this is my first lipstick from Urban Decay so I'm looking forward to trying this one.
What do you think of my purchases? Have you tried any of them before? I'd love to hear your thoughts :)
Lovely beauty buys! ! I've only ever tried urban decay and Mac. But never the others!
