The Revlon Lip Butters are something just about every beauty blogger and Youtube guru seems to have in their collection. However are the sheer lip colours deserving of the praise?
I actually only own 3 shades, however I love them a lot! The degree of pigmentation and whether or not they contain shimmer really depends on the shade you pick. I think someone could easily buy a dud shade and wonder what all the fuss is about. They aren't a revolutionary or world-changing product but I like them and can definitely see why they appeal to so many people. I also like the silver in the tube and the fact you can see which colour you have, though I can see the plastic sheath splitting and I can already feel the product wobbling around inside the packaging.
For me, they're really hydrating and perfect for work, as they give a light flush of colour, you don't need to wear a lip balm too, plus they're really quick and easy to reapply. They don't have amazing staying power, however I wouldn't expect a product like this to. I think the main downside is that they're a little pricey; £7.99 is a lot for a sheer colour/lip balm product. However I've never actually paid full price for one; they're constantly included in deals at Boots or Superdrug.
I really recommend the three shades I have for a pretty, low-maintenance lip product to pull everything together.
So, are they worth the hype? YES
Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? Do you think they're worth the hype?

Revlon lip products usually live up to what they claim. Haven't tried these yet, but I think I'm definitely going to now!

They're probably my favourite drugstore brand for lip products :) xx
DeleteLove the red velvet!!! I bet it looks bold on the lips! Great post, dear!

DeleteI've heard so many great things about these, really need to try them. Sugar Plum and Red Velvet look gorge x
ReplyDeleteJordan | Keep Dreaming ♥
Sugar Plum is great for the daytime and Red Velvet is good because it can be dressed down or layered for something more intense :) xx
DeleteI keep seeing these mentioned but have never tried them myself! Think I will definitely be picking a few up if there are any good offers in Boots/Superdrug soon! Great post and lovely swatches - Sugar Plum is my fave! xx
ReplyDeleteemily x ❤ | emily’s beauty blog
They're definitely worth getting in an offer :) Superdrug is doing a mix & match 3 for 2 at the moment xx
DeleteI actually don't own any Revlon lip butters, how weird is that? haha But I love the shades you have, pink truffle looks like amazing everyday lip colour. x
ReplyDeleteMummy's Beauty Corner
They're perfect for work or if you just don't want to look too 'done' :) xx
DeleteI had loads of these as I fell for the hype, but I just think they're seriously overpriced in my opinion xx
ReplyDeleteGemma | Miss Makeup Magpie
That's a shame you don't get the use out of them, I would definitely think twice about buying them at the full price xx
DeleteI actually didn't like the one that I got, but maybe I did get a dud shade? I found that it settled into the lines of my lips and was so soft that I had to be super careful with it. If they were cheaper I'd probably buy another to test it but I'm just not sure it would be worth it. The colours you have are pretty though! xx

Quite possibly, it's a bit annoying that the quality isn't consistent across the range! xx
DeleteI love using these but they rub off quite fast for me and they run out super fast! I do love the shade I got though. I got Pink Truffle. x x
ReplyDeletewww.beyondthevelvet.blogspot.co.uk
Yeah they do a bit, some of them leave a nice stain but others give you the 'lipliner' effect! As long as I don't have to re-touch more than 2-3 times during my working day, I'm not that fussed though xx
DeleteI really like Sugar plum, such a pretty colour! I love the idea of a butter, sounds so hydrating, I hate it when you get a really pretty lip colour and because you have dry lips it just ruins it! cottonandcandie xx
ReplyDeleteYeah it's really important to keep them hydrated now the weather is turning cold! xx
DeleteI've tried a few of the lighter shades of the Lip Butters and really liked them. Sugar Plum looks really pretty, definitely one I'd like to try :)
ReplyDeleteJordanAlice
I love Sugar Plum :) xx
DeleteThese are so pretty i love revlon www.misslaurenmorgan.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeleteTheir lip products are fab :) xx
DeleteLove the shades here, especially Red Velvet! I've only picked one of these up at the end of the summer as I could never decided on a shade. Eventually I gave in and bought Sugar Plum and I love it. Such amazing formula for my dry lips and the sheer colour is right up my street x
ReplyDeleteBeauty with charm
I'd definitely recommend Red Velvet. They're so low-maintenance! xx
DeleteI haven't used them in ages, might have to give the darker shade a go, looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love them, I never really went for the lighter shades as they'd have looked a bit 'off' on my skin tone! xx
DeleteI must be the only blogger who hasn't tried these yet haha! Love the look of Red Velvet though so I think I need to get my hands on that one :)
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely recommend trying one of these 3 shades, especially if you can get a deal! xx
DeleteI did wonder if these were worth it, but I do normally like Revlon lip products so I am sure I'll love these too. Fab review chick.

Yeah I'd definitely recommend catching them on offer! xx
DeleteI've heard SUCH good things about these. The pink truffle shade is lovely. Would be perfect for casual weekend looks with just a bit of mascara or something. Might have to invest next payday! :) xx
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss Katy | UK Lifestyle Blog
Pink Truffle is such a nice wash of sheer colour, definitely a 'your lips but better' xx
DeleteI only have one shade, which is berry smoothie and I think this is such a great lipstick that works more like a tinted lip balm, in my opinion. Love the colours you have too. x
