I decided to review these all separately, because the pigmentation really varies across the range. So, will I love Sugar Plum (£7.99) as much as Pink Truffle? Find out behind the cut...
If you live under a rock, the Revlon Lip Butters are somewhere between a tinted lip balm and a lipstick, though where on the scale between the two depends on which shade you pick. Sugar Plum, like Pink Truffle, is pretty much halfway between the two.
Obviously the texture means it doesn't make the most beautiful swatches in the world, but here it is anyway (left: no flash, right: flash):
It feels really hydrating on the lips and it's so easy to just pop it on and go. I think I love the colour even more than Pink Truffle! 'Sugar Plum' really is the perfect description. For some reason it wasn't love at first sight with this one, but now it's probably the lip product I automatically reach for without thinking. Here's how it looked:
The only catch, as with all of these lip butters, is that you get a maximum of about 3 hours wear from these. They do leave a really nice stain after the glossy layer comes off though, and this lasts a further 3 hours.
Overall I love this; it's a fuss-free everyday lip product.
* Such a pretty shade!
* So quick and easy to apply
* Hydrating, so no need to use lip balm; you can just put it on, throw it in your bag and go
* Nice sheen but no 3D shine
* Leaves a nice stain
* Reasonable price
* Gives a great pop of colour
* This one might not flatter everyone
* The staying power isn't amazing but that's the nature of the product
