If you're a fan of high-end brands like MAC, Nars, Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury, I think I may have found you a new obsession...
I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Lynette Page Makeup Artistry, sold both online and in a unique Beauty Boutique (on Minshull Street, Knutsford, Cheshire), where you can also attend classes or get a makeover!
The Studio
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the range, but once I arrived I met Lynette and got a feel for what her brand is all about. She's been a makeup artist for 17 years and the range has been developed for the last 4. It's a high-end brand, priced similarly to a brand like MAC and there are pro palettes for makeup artists as well as really accessible products for the rest of us!
Nighttime Eyeshadow for Brown Eyes
Everything is designed to make makeup quick and easy (with Lynette being a working mother herself) and blushers, lipsticks and eyeshadows are matched to you eye colour or whether you have cool or warm undertones.
One of the super-soft multitask brushes
I think I managed to swatch just about every product on show! I was really impressed with the consistency of the pigmentation; everything I tried took one swipe to get a nice, opaque colour.
Cool Down on my cheeks, Reality being applied to my lips
In lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushers there was a range from subtle to bold. I was also blown away by the staying power of the products I tried, the blusher in Cool Down (think a pinker Nars Orgasm) and the Super Matte Lipstick in Reality (a red berry stain). Both the blusher and the lipstick stayed on from the afternoon until I removed them very late at night. I'd been eating and had kind of forgotten I was wearing them, but they were still both really pigmented on my face.
Bright and subtle blushers. I wore the top shade: Cool Down
The Pro Palettes are pre-made, grouping together complimentary shades, but unlike the pre-made MAC palettes the individual shades can be lifted out. So you get the best of both worlds!
Blusher and eyeshadow Pro Palettes
The foundation range was really impressive too. There is one type of foundation, which gives a matte finish with a slight glow, however the shade range is huge. It's really frustrating when a brand has a really good selection for medium skin tones but then just one or two pale shades and dark shades. Lynette has a huge amount of shades for everyone with different skin tones as well as undertones.
Foundation for all of us!
Another thing that got me excited was the face powders. I know face powder doesn't sound like the most exciting thing in the world, but it's serious business if you have shiny face problems like me...and it turns out Lynette has the same issue. All the powders are designed to absorb oil (there's bronzer, translucent powder and coverage powder), and have been milled several times meaning no cake-y finish and your translucent powder won't show up under a camera flash.
All in all I'm super impressed and excited about this brand. It's launched with a huge selection but the quality is still consistently good. There's something for everyone and Lynette has made it really easy to work out what suits you.
You can order online via www.lpartistry.co.uk
If you're lucky enough to live in the North West you can book a makeup experience or lesson by emailing info@lpartistry.co.uk, which I'd totally recommend as Lynette is lovely and I can imagine her classes would be a lot of fun! It's also just a nice, comfortable setting to try out new products.
Do you guys like what you've seen so far from this brand? :)
