Summer Beauty Essentials

The British 'Summertime' appears to be over, but if you're heading off somewhere exotic, are lucky enough to live in a country experiencing summer or you're like me and hoping for an Indian Summer, here are my beauty essentials!

At the back left you can see my Moroccanoil Treatment (£31.85). Though I think it's a little overhyped, it is good for retaining your hair's moisture when blow-drying, which is especially important when it's being exposed to the sun.

Just behind that is my trusty Batiste Original Dry Shampoo (200ml, £2.99). I personally like to keep things simple and just get the Original formula. It's a total lifesaver on holiday and refreshes your hair after a day of sweating it out on the beach.

Next there's my Nars Pure Radiance Tinted Moisturiser in St. Moritz (£29). This is just perfect for on holiday as it is light coverage but still corrects any redness and makes skin look vibrant. But if you add on a coverage powder, blusher and eye makeup it also works as a base at nighttime.

Palmer's Coca Butter (200ml, usually £3.99 but currently £1.96 at Boots) is something I use all year round but it's even more essential when I have my legs out in summer. It's so rich and moisturising and I can't imagine using anything else.

Just next to that we have my Bioderma Sensibio H20 (£10). If you're travelling to Continental Europe make sure you grab a few of these as they're readily available in most pharmacies and for less than the UK price. This is the perfect multi-use cleansing water; gentle enough for eyes but also easily removes face and lip makeup. It's perfect for travel as you can remove all your makeup with a single product.

I've been late to the party with the Revlon Lip Butters (£7.99 each or currently 2 for £10 at Boots), but these are just perfect for summer nights. They're moisturising and low maintenance, adding a nice hint of colour. I currently have Red Velvet, Pink Truffle and Sugar Plum.

Back over to the left is my e.l.f. Studio Lip Exfoliator (£3.95). This is so essential for keeping lips hydrated and smooth, plus the fact it packaged like a lipstick makes it really easy to just throw it into your beach bag to use on-the-go.

Next to this is another product I've only just caved into the hype for: the Maybelline Baby Lips (£2.99 each or currently 3 for 2 at Boots). I really like these for in the day as they're slightly tinted and really moisturising.

The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub (£12.50) is sooo yummy-smelling! It gently removes dead and dry skin from your body, so essential for being bikini-ready. I also have the Blueberry one, which is just as delicious but currently appears to be out of stock.

Tucked away behind this is my e.l.f. Essential Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara (£1.95). This is probably the number 1 product I used whilst in Split. Traditional mascara tends to melt and irritate my eyes in the heat, so the clear gel just gave my lashes a subtle non-irritating boost. The brow gel was also great, as it seems a bit much to fill them in properly for a day at the beach, but the gel keeps them in place and makes them look thicker.

Summer is the season of shiny faces so the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer (£5.99) and Translucent Pressed Powder (£3.99) are perfect for not looking a sweaty mess!

I really like my new Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (£9.99). As it can be used for liquid foundations as well as for face powders, it's the perfect multi-purpose tool for travel.

So there you have it: my beauty essentials for the summer heat :) Do many of these products make your list?
