BEAUTY PRODUCTS I WANT UN-DISCONTINUED

And I am telling you,
You're not going,
You're the best makeup I'll ever know,
There's no way you can ever go,
No, no, no, no way,
No, no, no, no way I'm livin' without you,
I'm not livin' without you,
I don't wanna try new things,
You're stayin',
You're stayin',
And I, and I, I'm gonna buy you...

The most ridiculous opening to a beauty blog post ever? Quite possibly, but thank you Jennifer Hudson for perfectly articulating how I felt when the following products were discontinued...

The first product I'm going to talk about cuts me deep, because I know that one day this will run out and it seems unlikely it'll ever be brought back. Just my luck, then, that the MAC Matte Lipstick in Strip Me Down | £17.50 | is my perfect nude. Be grateful I even wasted precious product to swatch it below for you... It's creamy, it's opaque, it's that perfect beige mid-toned nude. It isn't too warm or red / orange, which is really what makes this product stand out to me. Whenever I swatch a 'similar' product, it either pulls too brown or has a pink undertone. The perfect colour of Strip Me Down remains unreplicated...

Base products are some of our most painful beauty losses. They're the things we repurchase over and over again because they give our skin that amazing look we're chasing. Until that one time you go to repurchase it and they're out of stock in your shade in-store, so you go to check online and it's reduced with most of the shades sold out and you get that awful feeling it might have been discontinued... That's how it went down for me with both the Estee Lauder Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup* (4W1) | £30 | and the Cover FX Mattifying BB Gel* (G Medium Deep) | £29. I still have a fresh tube of the Estee Lauder that I'm putting off opening, because it truly is my perfect radiant medium-coverage foundation that lasts, looks natural and gives me a perfected glow. But that's gone now for me. The Cover FX BB Gel was my perfect holiday base; it evened out my skin tone, was very lightweight, the perfect shade match and kept my face shine-free without looking drying. I'm using powder foundation on holidays now, but it's just not the same!

In terms of cheek products; the first I actually hedged my bets with. I had the Becca Mineral Blush in Amaretto in my Jaclyn Hill Champagne Face Collection and decided to pick up the Split Pan as a backup. This was the one limited edition shade that Becca didn't resurrect and typically, it was my perfect blusher shade! I guess I'm less gutted about this one now because I've found other blushers that I love a lot but this formula is really great; a sort of luminous matte with a creamy consistency. The warm, almost peachy brown nude colour is spot-on for me too. I was also recently gutted to discover that the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Sunset | £34 | have been discontinued, along with the other bronzing shade in this line. This is such a unique product; I really haven't come across another liquid bronzer quite like it. It has a lovely pearly formula and you only need a drop or two to warm up your complexion. What I love about this product is how it just meshes totally with the skin and looks so natural. The only silver lining is that you need so little product that hopefully it will last me a good while.

Away from makeup and onto two body products I'm sad to see the end of. The Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande Fragrance in Creme de Pistache | £42.50 | was my favourite, favourite fragrance for the longest time. Luckily I still have one bottle of this left because this fragrance was discontinued and then the body products in this scent were too! It has a gorgeous nutty, creamy, warm, sweet scent that's beautiful for Autumn / Winter. Let's see how long I can stretch this bottle out... Finally, I hope every year that they'll bring it back, but alas; I've been disappointed for the past few. It's the Lush Shower Gel in Hot Toddy. This was a Christmas scent that's cinnamon-y, orange-y, ginger-y perfection. I honestly remember the smell so well and wish they'd bring it back because to me; it was 'Christmas' in a bottle!
