My Travel Beauty Essentials

I'll have just arrived back from my trip to Amsterdam for New Year's Eve when this post goes live (I'm imagining I'll be feeling pretty worse for wear at this point...) so I thought I'd share with you the products I plan on taking with me. A few of these are from gift sets (which you may be able to snag in the sales), or might not be available in mini form any more, so I'll be sure to link through to next best thing!

I love the Glossier Pink Pouches (you get them free with your order) for travel. They're just really handy, waterproof ziplock bags that you can use to store makeup and toiletries.

For skincare, I've packed a mini of the Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser. It has the most gorgeous texture and contains various oils and clays, as well as zinc and magnesium. It's the perfect morning or second cleanse after you've removed your makeup and just ensures my skin is fresh, soft and smooth. To get rid of makeup I have a mini of my trusty Bioderma Sensibio H2O | £5.10 (100ml) | micellar water, which is so gentle and effective. I also have the classic Caudalie Beauty Elixir* | £11.40 (30ml) | as my face mist. It's fragrance is lovely and has relaxing aromatherapy qualities, which is why it's an essential in many people's hand luggage. It's also refreshing and hydrating on the skin so can be used as a toner.

I can't live without my Embyolisse Lait-Creme Concentre* | £15 (50ml). You can get this in a 30ml tube too but I wanted to take a larger one because I plan on using it as a moisturiser, primer and night cream. It's a super-nourishing but lightweight cream that has so many uses - it has an amazing smoothing and hydrating effect on the skin (which is perfect for winter!) I also have a mini of REN Wake Wonderful* which is a gentle but very effective cream treatment containing AHAs. I apply it before bed and by morning my skin looks fresher and more glowing - it's great to have a little something in the mix that will give my skin a pick-me-up.

I always travel with my Glossier Coconut Balm Dotcom | £10 | because anything multipurpose is going to save me precious bag space! This is a really nice lip balm and also works to hydrate any dry patches of skin. I've had a really bad cold recently, so have been blowing my nose a lot, leaving it a bit sore and this just helps the dryness. Still on the multitasking theme, I also have a mini Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil. I love this product because it's intensely nourishing for the dry skin on my body without being greasy and it can also be used to hydrate dry hair. Finally for body products, the Caudalie Hand & Nail Cream is an absolute essential! It's just so amazingly hydrating whilst having a lightweight, non-slippery texture.

In terms of haircare there are a few bits I'll be travelling with. First I have the Bramley Lemon, Mandarin & Rosemary Shampoo*  which is a gentle option that leaves my hair nice and clean without stripping it, as well as leaving behind a lovely fresh scent. I then have one of the new minis from my favourite budget haircare range: the Lee Stafford Coco Loco Mini Conditioner* | £1.99. I love this product because it hydrates my dry, damaged hair without feeling heavy or greasy, plus it of course smells amazing! Colour Wow have also released a collection of minis, my favourite of which is the Colour Wow Carb Cocktail Bionic Tonic* | £10. This is perfect if you're travelling hand-luggage-only because a lot of styling products to add volume are in aerosol cans. However this is a gel formula which you run a small amount of through your hair before blowdrying. It's weightless but really does give my hair so much body. I also never travel without a few Invisibobbles* | £4.99 (3). They're great for tying your hair up in a way that won't damage it or leave a kink.

There are a few other products in here, for the body: the Korres Japanese Rose Shower Gel* and the Clean Reserve Sen Santal Travel Spray*. The Korres shower gel has a gorgeous, floral, deep, rich, heady fragrance that lingers on the skin and a nicely moisturising formula. The Sel Santal fragrance is a fresh but warm fruity scent that's not quite like anything else in my collection. I also have a mini Butter London Nail Lacquer in Shop Girl* | which is the kind of light creamy nude shade that just always works no matter what I'm wearing (making it perfect for travelling with). The formula is nice and opaque and has decent longevity. I also always travel with an antibacterial hand gel - one of my favourites is Soap & Glory's Hand Maid* | £2.50 | because it has such a lovely fragrance (their classic Original Pink with fruity-floral notes). Lastly, I always pack a BeautyBlender* | £16 | because it's a multitasking miracle product! I use it slightly damp and it applies all of my favourite foundations flawlessly and ensures natural coverage with concealers. It can also be used with liquid or cream cheek products to give an even finish.

  1. A good beauty sponge is a travel essential for me too (and just an everyday essential) - they work with so many different types of product! Will definitely be making use of my Glossier pouches next time I go away - they're so handy.
