New Skincare on Trial #4

I have some skincare products today that I'm really excited to share with you! I'm hoping that a few of these brands will be new discoveries to you guys as well as there being new releases from some of my favourites.


Cleansers

Urban Veda Daily Soothing Facial Wash* | £12.99 | This isn't my favourite product from this range, however it's a nice morning cleanser. The Sandalwood + Botanics collection is aimed at soothing sensitive skin, so I was really excited to give this natural skincare brand a go (especially as we head into the colder months). This is a gel product, however I don't find it to be drying on my skin or anything like that. It's nothing I'd get overly excited about but it does the job of cleaning my skin of any lingering dirt or grease in the morning without being stripping and you can't argue with that!
Ingredients include: sage, ylang ylang

Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Soap | £16.50 | For some reason, I can't seem to find this mini in the UK anywhere, however I've linked the full-sized version. This has been one of my go-to morning cleansers lately, as a foam product just leaves my skin feeling so nice and clean. You have to be careful not to dispense too much of this, however it has such an interesting texture that sort of 'melts' onto the skin as you massage the mousse in. It's gentle, softening and hydrating, as well as giving my skin a proper cleanse, meaning it ticks all the boxes for a first-thing-in-the-morning product as far as I'm concerned!
Ingredients include: eggs white, amino acids, milk proteins 

Serums, Moisturisers & Night Creams

Vichy Mineral 89 Serum* | £25 | This is a new gel-formula serum from Vichy that I think will work on a range of skin types in need of a bit of lightweight hydration. This absorbs really nicely into my skin, though it has a slight tackiness to it. It gives an immediate moisture boost without being at all heavy or greasy, so as someone who's combination and dehydrated at the same time, it's pretty perfect! It doesn't have a scent and I think this would be suitable if you're sensitive too. I really notice that my skin is softer, smoother and looks plumper and fresher when I use this. It gives instant hydration to tired skin that lasts all day.
Ingredients include: thermal water, Hyaluronic Acid

Beauty Pie Super Stem Cell Moisture Shot Serum* | £70 (£7.02 for members) | I've mentioned this brand a few time on my blog and I have very mixed feelings (check out my previous posts here): essentially you have to pay for a membership (as well as a few other hidden costs in postage and so on) for access to lower prices. Personally, I think the markup on the skincare products from this brand is insane and totally unreasonable (and also a rip-off for members as this is what the cap on how many products you can buy a month is based on). Having said that; if you're already a member, these products are worth checking out. That out of the way, I feel like I can discuss the skincare itself! This is a lightweight gel-cream serum that absorbs so nicely into my skin. It leaves it feeling softer and plumps out any dehydration lines. My skin is definitely more moisturised when I use this and it's suitable for combination complexions like mine because it's nothing too heavy.
Ingredients include: aloe vera, tomato stem cells

Malin & Goetz Replenishing Face Serum* | £56 | This is definitely pricey, however a serum and a face oil are probably the two products I do tend to spend more on in terms of skincare (I do think the packaging could be a little more luxury, however I get that 'basic' and 'fuss-free' is what this brand is about). I've previously tried a few samples from Malin & Goetz and have been really impressed, so I had high hopes for this serum - and wasn't disappointed! It has a light, gel texture and although it leaves some tackiness, it's nothing that bothers me overly. I used this a lot on holiday, as my skin can get quite sensitive in the heat and it's amazing for calming and moisturising things. It's super-hydrating and plumping, so helps take care of any tiredness or lines you may have from dehydration. It's just a really great all-rounder that will work for most skin types.
Ingredients include: Vitamin E, chamomile, Sodium Hyaluronate

Beauty Pie Plantastic Youth Guard Eye Cream* | £40 (£5.26 for members) | I won't lie; I found it kind of hard to get excited about this product! It does the job but it is just a standard eye cream. It's moisturising without being too greasy and it does sink in nicely, stopping my makeup getting caky under my eyes. I guess it just doesn't do anything that any other eye cream you can grab in Boots with far less fuss can't!
Ingredients include: shea butter, caffeine 

Urban Veda Soothing Clarifying Night Cream* | £19.99 | I've often found it difficult to get that evangelical about a night cream, as I've tended to opt for treatments, however this is really great! It smells lovely and has a lightweight but nourishing texture. It's calming and soothing, giving my skin so much moisture without suffocating it or breaking me out. It's that perfect product after you've done an intensive face mask or something and you just want a replenishing cream that's not going to be too much.
Ingredients include: lavender, geranium, sandalwood, aloe vera

Beauty Pie Jeju Overnight Moisture Superinfusion* | £70 (£12.28 for members) | Again, I think the mark-up on this product is a little bit ridiculous... However that aside, this is a really nice night cream for daily use on dry skin or an occasional treatment on normal and combination skin types that suffer from dehydration. It isn't smothering but definitely has a richer formula that leaves my skin smooth, soft and hydrated by morning. I do think there are other products out there if you aren't a member of Beauty Pie, however if you are then definitely check this out.
Ingredients include: Hyaluronic Acid, Jeju volcanic sand, flower stem cells

Masks, Exfoliators, Toners & Treatments

Cloud 9 Deep Nourishing Sleep Mask* | £38 | I absolutely love a nourishing overnight mask or oil during the colder months when my skin goes into a permanently dull and dehydrated state. This is definitely heavy-duty so it's more something I'd use a few times a week than every single day, however I haven't found that it's clogged my pores or caused me any breakouts despite this. It has a cream texture and is really intensely moisturising, leaving my skin so soft and smooth by morning. It not only takes care of dry areas, but I've noticed that any dehydration lines are plumped out and look less visible when I use this.
Ingredients include: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, antioxidants, avocado oil

Good Things Pore-fectly Clear Charcoal Face Mask* | £5.99 | Good Things is definitely one of my top affordable skincare brands that you can pick up in Boots, however I do still think it's a little bit underrated in the beauty world. This is a lightweight clay mask that I spread a thin layer of on my skin, leave for 10 minutes and then rinse off. It's not the product that I reach for when my skin is going crazy and I'm seriously breaking out, however it's much more gentle than those products in my collection. Although it hardens, it doesn't dry out my skin at all. It feels nice and invigorating, getting rid of excess oils and giving my skin a deep cleanse. It helps keep things clear and just balances out my skin nicely.
Ingredients include: charcoal, willow bark, caffeine, pomegranate

MaskerAide Pre Party Prep Facial Sheet Mask* | £5 | I really love using sheet masks in the evening whilst I'm relaxing. I tend to just leave them on until the mask dries out (usually 2 hours or so) regardless of what the instructions say. This one has a good fit and is soaked with a milky moisturising gel product. It's not revolutionary but I find it nice and hydrating and I did find that it had a plumping effect on my skin.
Ingredients include: argan oil, rice extract, orange peel oil

Mad Beauty Animasks Tiger Sheet Face Mask | £3 | I picked this up on a bit of a whim whilst browsing in Topshop. When you unfold the mask, it has a cute little tiger print on it - yes, it's a bit gimmicky but I still wanted to see how this performed on my skin. I was pleasantly surprised - this left my skin looking fresh and feeling nice and smooth. I felt like it had a nice de-puffing effect and soothed any redness.
Ingredients include: cucumber

Masque Bar Tea Tree Peel-Off Mask* | £4.99 | I was really intrigued by the concept of this mask - essentially inside here you have a pot of powder and a little scooper. You add 7 scoopfuls of water and give it a mix. Then you apply a generous layer on the skin, relax for 15 minutes and peel it right off. I'm starting to wonder if I just have a small face because this isn't the first time I've had a single-use mask that I think has way too much product in it! However, aside from that I was pleased with my experience of using this mask - it's one of the few peel-off products I've tried that does completely set down in the specified time and pulls away without making a gunky mess. It's hard to pin down any long-term benefits with this kind of product, however my skin instantly looked and felt clean and refreshed. It feels quite invigorating on the skin, which I also like.

Urban Veda Soothing Exfoliating Face Polish* | £13.99 | I'm a really big fan of this exfoliator and at this price-point I definitely recommend checking it out. It's a sort of cream formula that contains very fine particles (almost like a micro exfoliant). It's so gentle and moisturising but very effective, refining my pores and taking care of any dry patches of skin. I use this once a week, focusing on any problem areas and it works a treat without irritating my skin or causing any redness.
Ingredients include: sandalwood, geranium, ylang ylang

Urban Veda Soothing Hydrating Toner* | £13.99 | I'm not usually one to get too excited over a toner, however again this brand has impressed me! This product is designed to soothe, hydrate and restore the skin's pH balance after cleansing and it does a really great job of that. Sometimes, especially during the colder months, the skin can get a little bit tight and this instantly relieves that, leaving my skin soft and smooth.
Ingredients include: myrrh, sandalwood, aloe

Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish* | £14 | I really wasn't sure what to expect from this product because it kind of sounded like lip scrub from the name, however it's actually a nourishing (but completely transparent) lip balm. The difference is the packaging - it comes up through a textured applicator which can be used to exfoliate with. I use this both during the day and at night - it is a heavier treatment but because it's clear, it still works well under lip colours. It leaves my lips so soft and hydrated in a lasting way.
Ingredients include: sweet almond oil, shea butter, evening primrose oil
