I must admit that it's been too long since I checked out Fragrance Direct! Despite the name, it isn't all about scents - they actually stock a ton of my favourite beauty brands at discounted rates, plus have a 10% student discount all year round. Their website also looks really great these days, so it's easier to find what I'm looking for. I picked up a few bits and now I've had a chance to try them out, I thought I'd share my thoughts so far...
Nuxe Reve de Miel Facial Cleansing & Makeup Removing Gel* | £14.50 | I'm a huge fan of Nuxe in general but especially their super-nourishing Reve de Miel collection, so I'm not sure how I'd never tried this before! Firstly, it smells amazing with that same gorgeous warm honey scent as all the products in this range. It has an interesting gel-oil formulation so doesn't feel greasy or leave an excess, but is still really effective, even on stubborn waterproof makeup. I use it with a damp muslin cloth to remove my makeup before cleansing my skin fully. If I have one negative it would be that it's not as gentle on my sensitive eyes as it could be!
Philip Kingsley Flaky / Itchy Scalp Toner* | £16.95 | I actually tried a mini of this last year and, though I liked it, it was upwards of £20. However this has a nice little discount on it at Fragrance Direct, so I think it'll make its way onto my repurchase list once I make my way through this bottle. It is quite watery, so be sure to apply carefully so you don't waste any product, but this is so nice and soothing on a sensitive scalp. If you suffer from dryness, this will really help to ease the itching and irritation.
Hylamide Low Molecular HA Booster* | £18 | I've tried the super-fancy hyaluronic acid serum from Niod and the really affordable one from the Ordinary, so I decided to give Deciem's mid-range offering a go. So far, I'm definitely impressed! I don't think it's as fast-absorbing and incredibly effective as the Niod one, however it's half the price. It still sinks in nicely without sitting on the surface and feeling tacky. It gives my skin a nice boost of hydration and helps to smooth out any dehydration lines. Overall, it's a thumbs up!
Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Beauty Vinegar* | £15 | I know this has an elaborate name but it's essentially a toner for me! I've tried a few products from this range and my mum really recommended this, so I thought I'd give it a go. It smells amazing and is packed full of plant essences. I definitely feel that my skin looks fresher and brighter when I use this, as well as it leaving the texture soft, hydrated and smooth.
Rodial Glamstick in Thrill* | £12.99 | Somehow I'd never tried anything from this brand before but with such an amazing saving, it seemed the perfect opportunity! It's a moisturising semi-sheer lip product that sits somewhere between a sheer lipstick and a tinted lip balm. The shade Thrill is a warm brown-toned nude that's great as a 'my lips but better' everyday shade.
Trilogy Products Balancing Face Oil* | £27.50 | I do like to test moisturisers for a fair while before delivering my final verdict (I'll keep you posted) however so far, so good with this one! I'm a huge fan of this brand (especially their rosehip oil) and thought this moisturiser sounded like exactly what my combination skin was in need of. I really appreciate the handy, functional, basic packaging, though I do find it a bit hard to control how much comes out in a pump. It contains rosapene, ginkgo and green tea, and feels nice and gentle on my skin, providing hydration without the shine. It's lightweight and also doesn't matte the skin down too much.
Have you picked up anything from Fragrance Direct lately?
