Haircare Discoveries You Need to Know About

I rarely switch up my haircare routine but over the past few months I've trialled several new products that I really liked, so I thought I'd share them with you today!

Grow Gorgeous Overnight to Gorgeous Hair Masque* | £22 | I'd honestly never tried an overnight hair mask before, so I was fairly apprehensive about putting something like this on my hair when I first used it. I applied a fairly small amount, fully prepared for sticky, greasy hair the next day. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find my hair looked more hydrated, healthy and glossy by morning. This is pretty much the cure for limp and lacklustre hair.

Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox* | £28 | I honestly don't know how I lived before scalp exfoliants came into my life! I do need to first disclaim that I still prefer my Kiehl's one, as I have a dry, itchy, flaky scalp, however this gentle, natural formula is perfect if you get product build-up at the roots. It has a cream consistency so moisturises whilst gently buffing away anything blocking up your hair follicles, which of course promotes growth! I use this as a pre-shampoo step.

Grow Gorgeous Strengthening Oil* | £25 | This is a really unusual hair oil; it has a lightweight, non-greasy texture. The one thing I don't like is that the watery consistency makes it a bit tricky to apply. You can use this on damp hair but I prefer something a little more heavy-duty before I blow dry and then I instead use this to smooth out my hair once it's dry, as you can use it daily without having to worry about greasy product build-up. It definitely improves the appearance of my often-brittle hair and the ingredients are supposed to protect the hair from environmental aggressors, to strengthen it in the long-term.

Grow Gorgeous Stimulating Scalp Masque* | £24 | This is one of the stand-out products that I tried from Grow Gorgeous - it's a hair mask that should be used pre-shampoo (I've tried it both on dry and damp hair and it doesn't make much of a difference for me at what stage I apply it). I just massage a generous amount into my scalp (the applicator makes it really easy to apply the product directly to the roots), leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse. It's incredibly invigorating, as well as being cool and calming on my sensitive scalp.

Mane 'N Tail Deep Moisturizing Shampoo* | £6.99 | I really wasn't sure what to expect from my first foray into this horsey haircare brand but I have to say that I'm impressed! It's incredibly affordable and the bottle size is really generous. What I would says to avoid over-applying because that's the temptation when you have this gigantic squeezy bottle. However I have to say that I really like this; it leaves my hair so soft, moisturised and shiny, instead of stripping it like some harsh shampoos I've tried. At under £10 a bottle, you really can't go wrong!

Mane 'N Tail Deep Moisturizing Conditioner* | £6.99 | I'm also absolutely loving the matching conditioner - again I'm careful not to go mad with the application but what I like is that it doesn't make my hair heavy or greasy. It really does give intensive moisture to my hair that leaves it looking and feeling much smoother and silkier. If you have dry or damaged hair then definitely give this a go, because it makes such a difference!

eSalon Keepin' It Rich Moisturising Mask* | £13 | This is actually a custom hair colour brand, however they do also have a wider range of products, largely aimed at caring for coloured hair. This is a mask, so I use it after shampooing but before conditioning. This is a really nice one if you want something that's both hydrating and lightweight. When I dry my hair you wouldn't even know I'd used anything, but it feels a lot softer. It's not one of those intensive, super-nourishing oil-based products but is suitable for use every time you wash your hair.

Lee Stafford Argan Oil Night Repair Serum | £12.99 | Spurred on by my success with the Grow Gorgeous treatment, I decided to try another overnight hair product. It has an unusual consistency so pretty much melts into the hair. I use it on my ends and my hair is so much more nourished and shiny by morning without leaving a nasty residue behind. I definitely recommend this if you have dehydrated ends that tend to get drier and drier between washes.

L'Oreal Botanicals Strength Cure Mask | £9.99 | I was really intrigued by this new, more premium-looking collection by L'Oreal so decided to try this mask to start with and I was seriously impressed! I actually want to get the oil from this same line as well now... It has a very lightweight texture and, as I always do with masks, I leave it in for  few minutes after shampooing but before conditioning, concentrating on the ends. I can't even explain how smooth my hair is after use! It's absolutely amazing and isn't anything too thick or heavy, in case you're concerned about product build-up.

  2. I only use the Strengthening Oil on dry hair and yes, the watery consistency makes it a bit messy but I love it so much. Seriously might be overdoing it with this oil! Haha! The Mane N Tail products sound great and what good value too xxx
