The Sunkissed Highlighters

It's kind of almost nearly (?) summer, and I'm a certified highlighting junkie, so recently I've been loving a more golden-bronzed glow. These are my favourite products for creating that kind of look!

Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter* | £32 | This is a beautiful multi-use product; you can dab it over your foundation (but don't use powder beforehand, as liquid works best on liquid), apply it before your base or mix it in with your primer or foundation. It has a stunning, multifaceted oyster gold colour that gives a natural, glossy glow to the skin.

ColourPop Super Shock Cheek Highlighters in Candyman & Churro | $8 each | This is such an unusual formula; it's a sort of bouncy, mousse-like cream that's so pigmented and blends out nicely on the skin with your fingers or a stippling brush. They give an intense highlight and a dewy (but not shiny) finish. Candyman is a beautiful bronzed gold and Churro is a bronze shade with slightly rose gold undertones. Both are beautiful to wear during the summer months.

No7 Instant Radiance Bronzing Highlight | £9.95 | Seriously, why is this so underrated?! It just has the most gorgeous formula and finish because it's opaque, not at all greasy compared to other creams I've tried and just gives this subtle, metallic sheen with zero glitter. On my skin tone, it gives a natural, bronzed glow without looking too greasy. The formula also blends out beautifully - I tend to dab this on and blend it out with my fingers.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Prosecco Pop | £32 (individually) | Of course one of Becca's legendary highlighters is in the mix; their powder formula just has the smoothest texture with the most incredible impact! It gives this gorgeously dewy shimmer and doesn't look at all glittery on the skin. This is a beautiful true gold colour that's perfect for medium-dark skin tones.

Jouer Powder Highlighter in Topaz | £19 | This is a lovely, natural everyday option that adds a subtle glow to the skin. It's a little more neutral-toned than some of the other options in here for those of you who aren't so into a golden highlight. It has a nice, smooth formula without any glitter.

Milani Strobelight Instant Glow Powder in Sunset Glow* | £13 | These highlighters from Milani are absolutely fantastic - they just add a gorgeous, soft sheen to the skin. It's nothing 'blinding', it's just a very 'from within', everyday-appropriate glow. This is one of the warmer, more golden-toned shades in the collection, however it isn't overly bronze and is still on the lighter side. There are a lot of shades in this collection and whilst the differences are subtle, there's definitely a colour in there for almost everyone so I'd recommend checking these out.

Too Faced Love Light Highlighter in You Light Up My Life | £25 | Don't be intimidated by the appearance of this in the pan, because it's actually a lot more subtle than it looks. I love the unique, metallic yellow tone of this gold and the fact it's a more subtle formula prevents it from looking odd on the skin tone, instead you get a really summery look. The formula is more of a metallic sheen than anything else once applied, as opposed to being dewy.

MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Global Glow | £24.50 | This looks really glittery in the pan but I promise that doesn't translate to the skin! Instead, what you get is a very low-key wet-look highlight. It's very pretty and perfect for those of us who want a less 'in your face' approach to highlighting. This is a warm bronzed-gold with very slight peachy undertones that looks very natural on me.

Make Up For Ever Pro Light Fusion in 02 Gold* | £28 | I own a few highlighters in this sort of colour family but I think this has to be my favourite formula-wise! I just love how this applies; it's so smooth and doesn't sit on top of the skin, it just looks very natural whilst giving an amazing level of pigmentation. It's a true light gold that's perfect if you want a light, bright highlight but something warmer-toned for the summer months.

  13. I have the pink MUFE highlighter and I love it, the gold one has been in my list to buy for some time now. And I am obsessed with Marc Jacob's liquid highlighter, I add it into my foundation and wear it on its own almost every day!

  15. I honestly wish I could use highlighters! I think I have a small face so if I tried to contour, highlight and use blush it would be crammed in. I have a big head but a small face hahah! These highlighters look beautiful though! Xox

I am tempted to try the Colour Pop one - but No7 Is never talked about in general as a brand. I virtually never see posts about the brand.

  20. I'm going to have to give Churro another go when I come back from holiday (with hopefully a tan) because at the moment it's just far too dark on me! I don't usually go for golden highlighters because they look too 'stripe' like on my face, but MUFE Gold has really caught my eye! xx
