Spring is finally here and, as someone whose mood is unduly influenced by the weather, I'm super excited about that! For me, Spring shades aren't my natural territory but I'm becoming more and more of a fan of fresh, natural makeup, which is perfect for this season.
Base
MAC Strobe Cream in Goldlite | £25 |
This moisturising, priming, highlighting all-in -one is in the mix, as usual! It can be used underneath makeup or mixed in with your base to give a natural,
healthy glow. The shade I have gives a golden sheen however you can also get
this in pink, peach and (bizarrely) red.
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (St
Moritz) | £30 | review | This is another product regular readers will
know all about! It's just the best hydrating (but not greasy) light base I've
tried yet; it looks so natural but gives enough coverage to even out the skin
tone. It just never fails to give my skin a 'perfected' and radiant look. It's
also really long-wearing on me for this type of product.
Too Faced Born This Way Concealer
(Medium) | £20 | review | I think this has made it into every beauty
edit I've done since I discovered this; it's just always appropriate! This is a
medium-full coverage concealer that gives the most radiant look under the eyes.
It just always makes me look fresh and alert, even when I'm really not! It also never
looks heavy or caky. For me, Spring is all about having natural,
healthy-looking skin and this definitely helps achieve that look.
Cheeks
Topshop Glow Pot in Gleam | £10 | This has to be one of my favourite cream highlighters that I own; I just love the dewy-but-not-greasy formula and the shade itself is perfection. It's a sort of champagne gold colour that looks so natural and blends out beautifully to give the skin a subtle, healthy glow.
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush Palette | £59 | This palette contains an amazing array of shades: there's a deep plum, a bronzed nude and a vibrant peach. I absolutely love the Hourglass blusher formula, as regular readers will know - it gives your skin a glow from within, which is perfect for a Spring makeup look. Instead of being shimmery or sitting on top of the skin, they look natural and effortless. These also wear really well on my skin - I don't struggle with patchiness when I use this palette at all!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette | £39 | review | This product is seriously overhyped, buuuuut I do still really like it! For me it's a really wearable way to experiment with peachier tones because it's a very warm palette and I tend to suit those sorts of shades the best. Of course I love the quality of Too Faced eyeshadows; there's not a single dud in here; just creamy, long-wearing, pigmented shadows. As well as the obvious peaches, there are warm brown, gold, champagne and bronzed nudes in the mix.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper | £23 | This cream eyeshadow
stick is such an underrated gem - personally I like it more than the ones I
have from By Terry. It's this gorgeous warm gold colour with a dewy, metallic
sheen. It isn't greasy and it doesn't crease; in fact it's practically bulletproof
in terms of wear time. It can be used on the inner corner if you have a darker
skin tone or if you're fair, all across the lid for a fresh-faced makeup look.
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal | £20 | I honestly use this product at least once a week because it's such a minimal-fuss lip option. Although it's pricey, it is one of the best lip balm formulas I've ever tried and the tint is a lot stronger than I've found in other similar products. It moisturises as well as adding a warm nude-pink hint of colour.
ColourPop Matte Lippie Stick in RAYEzor (discontinued) | $5 | Sadly this is no longer available, though the shade Hotline is very similar. I'm a matte lip kind of girl overall so I had to have a Spring-appropriate option in the mix. This is very creamy and does have a slight sheen but will still give your hours of wear before the need for a top-up arises. It's a really nice warm peach-brown nude shade that's just deep enough to work for my skin tone.
Essie Eternal Optimist Nail Polish | £7.99 | This is such a classic, unassuming nail polish but it never fails to work. It's a sort of blush pink tone that's bolder than a true nude but will still go with just about any outfit or makeup look. I find it very opaque and I get an impressive amount of wear out of it before it starts to chip around the edges. It's a bold statement but I think if you only ever buy one Essie polish: it needs to be this one.

Skincare and
Everything Else
Pixi Glow Mist | £16 | Of course fresh, radiant skin is going to look good all
year round but I think it's a fundamental of Spring beauty. This face mist
never fails to refresh and revive my skin when it's looking a bit dull and
tired. It includes natural oils and aloe vera so also moisturises and soothes
the skin.
Glossier Super Glow Serum | $28 | UK Shipping | This is a
water-light Vitamin C serum that will work on any skin type in need of a bit of
glow. I like to use it in the morning as it's both refreshing and
fast-absorbing. It gives my skin that healthy look I'm always in search of. Rumour has it that this brand should be available to ship to the UK later this year so keep your eyes peeled and in the meantime I've linked my post detailing how I ordered this.
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne | £44 | This
has to be my #1 Jo Malone scent (though it's certainly not the most
famous from her collection) and probably one of my all-time personal favourites. It has the perfect
balance of sweet, floral and fruity. I often find floral scents too sharp but
honey and nectarine turn this into such a pretty, understated scent that's
perfect for this time of year.
Essie Eternal Optimist Nail Polish | £7.99 | This is such a classic, unassuming nail polish but it never fails to work. What are your Spring
beauty essentials?

Every time you talk about that Jo Malone scent I feel the need to make yet another trip to the counter and do some sniffing! I adore Jo Malone. I need to spend more time looking at Laura Mercier, because I never know where to start, however, that Copper shade is gorgeous and maybe just the thing to start with!!
