Zoeva Rose Golden Volume 3 Luxury Brush Set

Rose gold is a trend I'm well and truly on board with (in case you hadn't noticed!) so I was beyond excited to receive the new Zoeva Rose Golden Volume 3 Luxury Brush Set* (£75, also available here). I do actually own both the other sets (yes, I know that is totally ridiculous but whatever) so I'm going to do a comparison post soon to help those of you who have asked me which one you should go for soon. However today is all about these new beauties.

The Packaging & Pricing

When I first heard there would be a Volume 3, I wasn't sure where else Zoeva could go with the colour scheme having already done the pastel blush and the deeper chocolate brown-black. However they've taken the luxury feel to a whole new level with this new set and finished the entire handles in rose gold, which is reflected in the higher price tag. But I have to say you are getting what looks and feels like a really premium product. I love the extra little design touches like the subtle design and names on the handles. I know there's been a lot of talk on social media over Zoeva increasing the prices of their products recently. However as far as I'm concerned they are still excellent value and I prefer them to brushes I've tried that are £20-40 each, so a little bit of perspective is needed! I've happily purchased both the previous sets with my own money and would do so again with these also. Plus there are exciting things like more new product launches and Zoeva coming to Selfridges.

Like all Zoeva sets, this one comes with a little pouch; this deep grey isn't my favourite colour out of the ones I have from them but I love these as they really come in handy when travelling. If I'm away on a long trip then I use it just for brushes or for an overnight stay it's the perfect size to fit everything in.

The Face Brushes

103 Defined Buffer - this is just the most amazing brush for flawless foundation! The angled, synthetic bristles are packed very tightly which is exactly what I love for a full coverage foundation. This is an absolute dream with a formula like Estee Lauder Double Wear or even something a little lighter like Nars Sheer Glow. When you want that completely flawless base, this is perfect. It applies my foundation with zero streaks in under a minute. If you're like me and and a little bit obsessed with getting the perfect base then this is a must-have (even if you just end up buying it individually).

109 Face Paint Vegan - this is a synthetic version of the Face Paint brush from my Volume 2 set. Getting my hands on this couldn't have come at a better time because as I've mentioned in other posts, I've really been getting into my cream contouring lately. This has a square shape to the bristles that seems to nestle perfectly under my cheekbones. It really makes cream contouring effortless as you can blend it out in a few seconds.

129 Luxe Fan - this is a natural-bristled brush. My collection was definitely missing a small fan brush so it's great that there's one in here. It can be used to brush away fallout under the eyes and/or to set your concealer with a light dusting of powder. This can also be used for a light application of highlighter (i.e. for when I decide I want to wear Champagne Pop to the office...)

114 Luxe Face Focus - this is a natural brush with tapered bristles. The bristles are fairly thick but not overly dense. Again, I either use this for highlighter or for setting. The shape and size seems to fit perfectly underneath my eyes to pat on setting powder. However it also makes it great for applying your highlighter. So I would recommend trying both this and the fan brush for each task and deciding which one you prefer for what. At a push I'd say I favour this for highlighting and the fan brush for setting.

The Eye Brushes

142 Concealer Buffer - I'm a long-time fan of this brush! It's just perfect for applying concealer to any blemishes or redness. The synthetic bristles are packed tightly and have a slightly rounded tip, which makes it great for getting into awkward areas like the inside corner of your eyes (yes, my dark circles really do spread up that far...) I just really like how well it buffs any concealer into my foundation, no matter what combination of products I'm using.

228 Luxe Crease - it's no secret that I'm the biggest fan of Zoeva's eye brushes! This large natural crease brush is one of my most-used. It has a tapered shape which makes it perfect for applying my transition shade and blending it out effortlessly. I also love this for blending out any harsh edges with my eyeshadow.

234 Luxe Smoky Shader - this is one of those brushes I don't know how I ever lived without! It's just the perfect flat, slightly rounded natural brush to pat a dark shade into the outer v of your eyelid and create a bit of a smoky eye.

317 Wing Liner - I actually don't wear gel eyeliner any more, however this is lovely for smudging out a kohl formula for a smoky look. I tend to actually use it for eyebrow products like the Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade as the overall small shape of the brush allows me to be really precise and draw in each individual hair. The angled synthetic bristles seem to give the perfect, natural look, making this my favourite for eyebrows.

Do I Recommend?

All of the brushes are available individually and some of them can be found in the other Rose Gold sets (so keep an eye out for my comparison!) so whether this is worth the splurge depends on how many Zoeva brushes you already have. If you have a duplicate for a brush you use every single day in this set then it's probably still worth getting your hands on it so you have a spare. If you own almost all of these, it probably isn't essential but I can't say I'd blame you for buying these just for the aesthetic! They honestly are the most beautiful brushes I think I've ever laid my eyes on.

Zoeva brushes are my favourites by a mile - I love the face brushes and the eye ones are just beyond amazing. I reach for them over ones I have from high-end brands like MAC and Bobbi Brown because I feel they aren't only 'as good' as them but better! There isn't a single dud in this set as the quality is just incredible. Overall this is a fantastic set that ticks all the boxes in terms of style and substance. It has most of what you need on a day-to-day basis and during the time I was trying these out I didn't need to reach for my other brushes very often at all. I rarely dedicate an entire post to one product so I think that says it all about how much I think of this set!

Have you tried Zoeva brushes? Which are your favourites?

  1. Now this is a Zoeva set I could see myself purchasing. I would actually use all the brushes (except maybe the one you mention you are going to use for cream contouring...or maybe this brush would help me get into cream contouring, lol!) but I've never bought a Zoeva set to this day because the sets were either missing a type of brush or didn't quite tickle my fancy. But this looks perfect! I also need a little fan brush in my collection. Lets not even talk about the look of these...lets just not...*runs away to start a little piggy bank saving account for this set* xxx

  3. They look gorgeous. I like to buy mine in singles as I know I would only use half of the ones in the sets. I definitely need to get more eye brushes though as I only have a few. Some of these look amazing!

  7. God, I'm yet to get my hand and volume two and here the volume 3 ruining my wishlist. But it seems that they're pretty much the same line up witht he 1st volume? If they're the same then maybe I will skip this one and go with 2 instead.

  10. These look so beautiful. Every time Zoeva always seems to surprise us and jumps on a popular bandwagon-they're on point with their packaging! I recently picked up the buffer brush 104 in the bamboo style but I already had the normal black and silver one but who's judging?! That luxe crease brush looks so good!

    1. Yeah I know :) it is also on the Selfridges website so you could always go and swatch/feel the tester products then order online! I'm not that bothered about ordering brushes without seeing them to be honest but still hope they plan to bring Zoeva to at least one of the Selfridges stores in Manchester! Xx
