October Libbie Club Box | Review*

I’ve never really been one for subscription boxes but the Libbie Club is a little different and ideal for bloggers. This is my first month doing it (so I’ll let you know how I found the whole process if I get another one next month!) but the basic idea is that you apply to join, get sent a box to review the following month and have your own page of discounts to share. If someone uses one of your discounts then you get another box of products to review the next month.

This month I received three products to try out and now I’ve had a couple of weeks to give them a go I thought I’d share my thoughts so far. Also if you fancy checking out my deals page there are some pretty impressive discounts and free gifts on there (I’m not just saying that, by the way!) including 20% of Caudalie’s Glycolic Peel Mask, a free Philip Kingsley product when you buy his Elastacizer and some on the products I’m reviewing today.

This is an impressively premium product to get a full size of in this kind of box. I haven’t previously tried any Nude skincare, or heard a great deal about it so I went into it with an open mind. I generally use this to remove my makeup. It comes out as a gel and I take around 2 pea-sized amounts to do my face and eye makeup. I gently massage it in before removing with warm water or a hot cloth. I was really impressed that it didn’t sting my eyes at all. It was also effective even on my eye makeup (though not as much with waterproof mascara) and it removed my face makeup with ease. My skin also felt fresh and soft afterwards. I feel like it’s a bit expensive, especially as you’re using it to remove your makeup, but it’s a large tube and probably more worth it if you use it as a morning or second cleanser. It does also work nicely for that and isn’t dissimilar to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel if you were fancying a bit of a change from that.

The deal on this product means you get a free Nude cleansing oil when you buy the Jelly here

I’m a bit of a newbie to pillow sprays but since trying the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray I’ve been converted (late to the party, I know). This is similarly priced to the This Works but the bottle is much prettier on my bedside. You get …ml vs. …ml in the This Works… It definitely smells a little different; it’s slightly more noticeable but has a similar lavender-y fragrance. I feel as though this is just as, if not more, effective at helping me drift off quickly and stay asleep. I’ve actually slept the whole night through a few times this past fortnight using this, which never happens for me. I would repurchase this as it’s nice to alternate with pillow sprays so you don’t get used to the scent, making it less effective.

The deal on this product means you get a free bath oil from the brand when you buy the pillow spray here

This product came out towards the end of Summer but for whatever reason I never actually picked it up. I had been intrigued by the concept so I was excited to give this a go. I have the shade Berry Much, which luckily is the one I’d have chosen for myself anyway. It’s a nice pink-purple berry colour that didn’t contain any shimmer as far as I could see. It comes out as a sort of paste but as you begin to blend the ‘aqua’ part comes into play and it turns into a water-based formula. I took a small pump for each cheek and dabbed it out with my finger. It’s so quick and easy to apply; I was really impressed it took no work at all to get an even finish. It’s a very natural flush of colour, which I like, but it’s also not overly dewy (which I’d been concerned about). By the end of the day I did find it was less visible, however the water-based formula meant it hadn’t gone patchy or uneven at all which is quite a feat on my skin!

The deal on this product means you get a free Colour Boost lip crayon when you buy the blusher here

I hope you enjoyed (I think!) my first beauty box review and hopefully one of the offers is on something you had your eye on! Make sure you check here for the full list.
