The £30 Hair Styler You Need in Your Life | Vidal Sassoon Easy Wrap Wand*

Confession time: before recently I hadn't used any other heat styler that wasn't GHD for about 8 years! A year or so ago my styler had had its day and I replaced it with the wide-plated version that isn't ideal for waves and curls, so I just tended to wear my hair straight because I wasn't spending another £100-something for the other styler too. That was until I was lucky enough to receive the Vidal Sassoon Easy Wrap Wand* (£30).

I really wasn't sure what to expect from this styler, as I have bad memories of 15 year-old me trying and failing to get nice waves out of this type of tool. However clearly they've come a long way since then and for £30! I'm honestly obsessed with this styler and cannot believe how good it is.

I've been entirely converted from multipurpose stylers. I really don't like how they drag on my hair as I feel like that leads to a lot of breakage on my already-fragile hair. With this, you just have to gently hold the hair (not pull it) around the wand and it only needs a couple of seconds to work. You also get a heat-proof glove to use with it if you often find yourself burning your fingers. Obviously any heat styling is going to damage your hair in some way but I think this really minimises it.

It's honestly so easy to use, sometimes I feel like there's a knack you have to pick up when using a styler but this was fine from the off for me (the picture below is from the first time I used this). You can use large or small sections of hair and for a looser wave use the base of the styler and for a tighter wave, wrap it around the tip. It's pretty 'no frills' in that there's only one setting and no special features but I really don't mind for the price.

All in all I love this styler. I wasn't going to do an individual review on this, it was going to be included with some other haircare products I've been loving lately but it's just so great I really needed to spread the word as much as possible! Although it's not the most versatile, for £30 you really can't complain. You can run your fingers through your hair afterwards for a more beach-y, tousled look or leave it looking salon-sleek. I straighten the front of my hair with my wide-plated GHDs then finish up with the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray and it works a treat!

The waves also last really well over the course of the day. My hair isn't great at holding a style and whilst it drops a little throughout the day, my hair still has a tousled wave by the end. Even on the second day, I just curl a few random bits and I'm good to go.

My hairstyle seriously needed a refresh and this has done the job perfectly and I would recommend it to anyone. This is my bargain of the month!

  6. This sounds amazing - for £30 as well! I have wide plate straighteners too and a load of hair so I can't make waves with it either. Definitely a good one to put down on a christmas wishlist xxx

  7. I've had one of these for a while (well, similar!) and they are so easy to use. However I have majorly thick hair so it doesn't work that well for me - I prefer heated rollers instead! x

  16. I think Vidal Sassoon products are generally good quality, even though they're not at all pricey. I remember watching a documentary on him and it was quite cool :)
