Do you ever find that a product being tricky to get hold of just makes you want it more? That was the story with me and the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. However they have a little store on Marylebone High Street I stopped by on my last trip to London (they also take orders by email and post them to you if you can't get to the capital via: london@fresh.com) I finally managed to get my hands on a couple of these! So, were they worth all the fuss...?
I picked up two shades for £18 each. They are admittedly very similar but I just couldn't decide and knew I wouldn't have the chance to get another shade for a very long time so I got myself Honey and Petal. Honey is a warmer brown shade whereas Petal is more of a pink nude. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely pigmented these were for a tinted lip balm formula. If you're having a low-maintenance day these are a great way to look pulled-together with minimal effort. They add a definite hint of colour but at the same time not so much that you end up with the dreaded 'lipliner fade' throughout the day.
The formula itself is so comfortable and nourishing. It isn't slippy or greasy or anything like that, just really nice and smooth (so they glide on perfectly). They also have the signature Fresh Brown Sugar scent, a sweet but slightly citric fragrance, which is a nice touch. I find they last around 3 hours on the lips, a little less if you're eating and drinking.

At the end of the day they are just tinted lip balms, they aren't the beauty equivalent of curing cancer so you need to manage your expectations! However I really love these and whilst £18 is a lot for this time of product it's nice to treat your lips sometimes and this is both pretty and a great lip care product.
So are they worth the hype? In a word: Yes!
Have you tried the Fresh Beauty Lip Treatments? Did you think they were worth the hype?
I have been tempted but never gotten around to getting some as like you say for a tinted lipbalm (which i have 100's of) it is a little on the expensive side. But I might do in the future :)

Oh wow! I had no idea they were being sold in London. I do think they are expensive but the swatch looks fantastic and I know they are great quality. Maybe one to add to my ever increasing wish list...Thanks for letting us know we can find this in London...xx
ReplyDeleteThey have some skincare, body stuff and amazing fragrances too :) xx
DeleteI'm not sure I could pay £18 for a lip balm but I keep hearing such good things about them!

I've been wanting to pick one of these up for a while but I've been putting it off since I didn't know what they were really going to be like. After reading this though, I definitely want to get my hands on one! Love the shades you've picked x

I really do want to try them , but cant bring myself to spent so much money and then be disappointed
ReplyDeleteThese look really lovely. Yes, they are pricey for a balm type product but I'd probably just buy one shade as a treat.
ReplyDeleteBoth the colours you have chosen look perfect. Really pretty.

Yeah I don't really own many tinted lip balms so it was a good investment :) xx
DeleteWhatttt?! £18 for those?! Jesus, I would never pay that in a million years! There are £1 ones that do the same job. Nice colours though!

Petal is a gorgeous colour. I love pinky shades. Tinted lip balms are my absolute go to when on holiday or on a hot day! I didn't know they had a store in London, I will definitively go and have a look! x

They really had some wonderful things in the store I was drooling over everything! xx
DeleteI saw these in Sephora and almost purchased the.. until I saw they were $30 at the time. I didn't get them in the end, and honestly, as they are just balms, I don't see myself getting them in the future. Although I will admit, the swatch I performed was pretty nice.

They are pricey but sometimes you just need a little treat! I think these types of products are sometimes the best to spend money on (if they work well) because you will wear them almost everyday :)

That's how I always feel, I'd much rather invest in shades I'd wear all the time than 'special occasion' ones I'll barely use :) xx
DeleteProducts we can't have definitely make us want them more. lol I have to say £18 for a tinted balm sounds like a lot but I have heard great things about these. I didn't know they had a shop in London so will have to go check these out. Thanks for the recommendation. :) x
