A Perfect Nude Pairing | Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette & La Creme Lipstick

Too Faced may not be the most accessible brand in the UK but, trust me, I've realised this year that it's well worth the extra effort. Unfortunately it's been discontinued by Boots, however you can still find it in-store in Debenhams or online through Beauty Bay and Escentual. The two products I have are just the most perfect everyday nudes in my book.

Firstly, there's the Natural Eyes Collection (£32). I'm going to say something many will see as sacrilege: I am loving this more than my Urban Decay Naked palette right now. There, I said it! I think it's just because the colours are so natural and easy to wear. Every single shade gets used and they're absolutely fool-proof. The colours are divided into three 'looks' and there's a little 'how-to' guide on how to create them. Whilst it's not a super-versatile palette, if you're looking for something pretty for day-to-day then this is for you! My only little bug-bear is that the largest pans are for the colours I use the least, which is a shame, though I understand why as they are more your base shades. The mattes in this collection are an absolute pleasure to use as they're so soft and blend incredibly well. I wouldn't say these are the most intensely pigmented eyeshadows I own however I think that's part of what makes them so easy to wear, plus I still think they last beautifully throughout the day. This palette paired with my Zoeva brushes has become my go to look and I apply them with the Petit Crease, Deluxe Crease and Luxe Shader Brushes (both from the Rose Golden and Rose Golden Volume 2 sets). The packaging is also lovely, as it comes in a really compact tin with a faux-lace finish.

Heaven is an off-white/cream matte to use as a base or a highlight for under your eyebrow. It's not super-pigmented but the texture isn't chalky in the slightest. Cashmere Bunny is a pink-brown shade with a hint of taupe. I tend to use this most days in the inner part of my crease but it would also make a nice base. Another favourite is Sexpresso, a dark chocolate-brown matte, again a great crease colour if you want something a little smokier or just a bit more definition. Silk Teddy, a light pink shimmer, for me is the inner corner highlight. Push-Up is a stand-out shade for me, as the pink-bronze shimmer is such an unusual colour and is so flattering. Erotica is sort of like Sexpresso plus gold glitter. I'm not usually a fan of glitter but this looks really lovely on the lids, perhaps as the pieces of glitter are really small. Nudie is a warm medium-brown nude matte, which looks under-pigmented in my swatches but it actually just happens to be pretty much the same as my skin tone! This makes it a really great base colour though. Honey Pot, a bright gold shimmer, is a highlight of the collection as it's just beautiful and has the same gorgeous, buttery texture as the others. Finally, Chocolate Martini is a very similar to Erotica, as it's a brown base with gold glitter however it's a little warmer-toned.

The second half of this perfect everyday duo is the La Creme Lip Cream in Pink Chocolate (£18). The texture of this lipstick is absolutely gorgeous. It's so creamy and has a lovely level of pigmentation. The shade is a rich pink-brown nude, as the name suggests! There's a slight sheen to it but I do feel it has decent staying power, though around the 4-hour mark I do get a bit of the lip liner fade. There's also just something I love about this shape of lipstick; I'm not sure what it is, maybe the 'cut off' bullet makes it easier to apply for me! The gold packaging is also a lovely thing to have on your dressing table.

All in all I'm in love with these two products and what better products to invest in than shades you'll wear everyday? I will certainly be picking up more from Too Faced when my bank account allows it...

Have you tried anything from Too Faced before?

  1. I didn't realise Boots had discontinued Too Faced. It's been a while since I've bought any but I always found their products super pretty. That palette is just gorgeous <3
I have the lipstick in a dark wine shade which is probably more dark for this season but I really love the texture of it too. Pink Chocolate looks perfect.

  28. Such a well-written, detailed review! It's a shame it's not more widely available here in the UK as I always hear good things about them! (probably best for my bank balance though!) I'm especially intrigued by the 'cut-off' shape of the bullet on the lipstick though, I don't think I've used one in that format before!

  33. Oh man I need this palette in my life! I can see myself wearing every shade down to the pan... luckily Too faced is fairly easy to obtain in Australia. Such a pity they're hard to get a hole of over there! I feel like nearly every product of theirs is a dream to use.
