I’ve been so rushed off my feet lately I hadn’t been to a
blog event since before Christmas! In the last week of February however I got
to attend two and got to catch up with some of my favourite Manchester bloggers,
meet some lovely new ones and came back with a few goodies to show you!
Firstly I went to the Branded Lab PR event to launch the
Spring/Summer Collections for several fashion brands such as Koko Couture,
South Avenue and Madam Rage. It was in the Northern Quarter, one of my
favourite places to hang out in the city. The venue was Rosylee, a bit of a
hybrid between a bar and a café. I was able to catch up with some of the lovely
bloggers I’ve met since starting mine last year and we browsed the new collections
drank cocktails whilst eating mini desserts, canapés and raiding the pick n
mix…We were challenged to put together our perfect Spring/Summer outfit from
the items on display and mine was chosen as the winner, which means I won the
entire outfit! I’m beyond happy because I never win anything ever. I can’t wait
for the weather to get better so I can rock it! Every time it’s slightly
lighter when I get home I’m excited!
As well as my outfit I grabbed a very varied goodie bag put
together by Branded Lab, containing products from Vita Cocoa to Fake Bake to
Elf to Soap and Glory.
The pieces I won are:
South Avenue Gabby White Lace Playsuit (£18.99)
Madam Rage Floral Lace Longline Kimono (£25)
Koko Couture Natasha Apricot Snake Skin Clutch Bag (19.99)
The next event I went to was the Manchester Bloggers Meet Up the following Saturday. I was going to go to one in Liverpool but to be honest I’d been out the night before and had about 4 hours sleep and I knew a couple of weeks ahead so switched to this one. It wasn’t a sponsored event or anything but in a way, I think maybe that’s why I enjoyed it so much! It was just bloggers coming together over food and drink to chat about what we love. I met so many lovely new people as well as some old faces and some girls whose blogs I’ve been reading for forever and finally got to put a face to the blog! It’s nice to just have some people who don’t think it’s weird to talk about foundation for half an hour…

It was hosted at Kosmonaut, again the Northern Quarter,
which has amazing and reasonably-priced burgers and cocktails. I’ll definitely
be heading back there with my mates. I actually won the Nanshy Masterful Brush Collection (£49.95) in the raffle, which looks amazing! It’s like 21 years of never winning
anything all came in one week. Maybe I should’ve entered the lottery that week…
Afterwards I went for a little wander around the shops with
Caitlin from Through the Mirror, who had come from Rochdale. And by ‘wander
around’ I mean, I ran around erratically and proceeded to add things to my
basket in Primark like a crazy person. But it was all good fun! I picked up a
basic grey t-shirt that I’d seen Laura from Fashion, Eats and Treats wearing at the event, a fur collared grey blanket wrap (which Caitlin
also picked up!), a little handbag that perfectly fits my blog camera and
accessories, a really nice candle, a few decorative props for blog posts, a
couple of Paris-themed makeup bags (that I wanted after seeing my mum with
them), an ice cream patterned pencil case, a London-themed shopper bag, a
really cute hot drink flask, a charger that was £2.50 and has the lightning
adapter for my phone, the old iPhone one for my iPad and the mini-USB for my
camera!
As well as the girls I just mentioned, I met or caught up with lots of other lovely bloggers:
Alex from Champagne & Lemonade
Nisha from How I Wear
Emma from What Emma Did
Amy from Amy Elizabeth Fashion
Ellie from Life of Ellie Grace
So make sure you check out their blogs!

Yeah its good because Manchester is big enough to have lots going on but small enough that you run into a lot of familiar faces :) xx
