New York Haul || Sephora, Drugstore & More

Before you ask, no: I didn't go to New York :( my boyfriend went (without me. On Valentine's Day.) so I asked him to pick me up a few bits. I was a little bit gutted that so much of the drugstore stuff I'd wanted was apparently impossible to track down (I was so sad I couldn't get the Lorac Unzipped palette), however I still have some stuff to show you!

My Sephora products were apparently really easy to find. My boyfriend got me the Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara, which I'd heard so many good things about! You can get this in the UK through QVC but as it was considerably cheaper over there I thought I might as well ask him to pick it up for me. I'm currently using this pretty much every day as the look it creates isn't too dramatic. Whilst you can get a tiny selection of the Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes in the UK (again off QVC), I loved the look of Captivating, which you can only get by ordering through Sephora US. It certainly didn't disappoint and now I'm kicking myself for not getting my hands on some more colours. Captivating is a stunning bright peach matte shade.

Also from Sephora was the Youtuber favourite: the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. I think this product is so worth the hype and the price tag so far. You get the most intensely pigmented black line, the nib is soft and you can be really precise. Finally he also got me the MAC 217 Brush. I was more wanting to get stuff that isn't available in the UK but I asked for this if he couldn't get some of the other products as I'm not sure I'd have paid the UK price for it! Saying that it is an excellent brush I find myself using every day so now I can't imagine doing my eyeshadow without it!

The only drugstore products it was possible to get hold of were the Almay Lip Butter in Nude Light-Medium, which is a really wearable everyday colour on me. He also managed to get me the Wetnwild Colour Icon Palette in Comfort Zone, which I've heard some great things about! I now have a couple of these and the quality is fantastic at such a low price.

Finally, he got me not one but two of my all-time favourite Yankee Candle that was discontinued in the UK: Banana Nut Bread. It's absolutely heavenly and now I can finally burn the tiny amount I have left of my original that I'd been conserving!

Even though I didn't get everything I wanted, I'm super-impressed my boyfriend managed to pick out exactly what I wanted and not get a single product wrong! And he did also try very hard to get the other things, there seemed to be some real stock issues though. Apparently there were about a million Duane Reade stores but none of them had a good selection and there wasn't really an Ulta anywhere in New York!
