REVIEW & SWATCHES || Makeup Revolution Radiant Lights Highlighters

Pretty much every new Makeup Revolution release is exciting in my books, but Radiant Lights have to be a highlight for me! (sorry, lame pun) The collection of 3 highlighters at £5 each are apparently dupes of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette. I don't own the Hourglass but I can tell you that the Radiant Light Illuminating Collection does not disappoint...Also, a little update; if you fancy sampling all 3, Makeup Revolution have now released an £8 highlighter palette containing them all in mini-form!

First off, these are such a good size and the quality means they are well worth the extra couple of quid they are compared to Makeup Revolution's regular highlighter line. The texture is so amazingly soft and buttery (they are clearly very finely milled) which means you can create a dramatic or a daytime look with these. Plus there's something for everyone. Pale skinned ladies will love Exhale, those with a darker complexion will love Glow and Breathe is perfect for everyone in-between. Saying that, I love all three of them for me!

They have really good pigmentation, so you can definitely still get a dramatic highlight for the nighttime but the texture means you can dust them on during the day too.

Let's start with the lightest shade: Exhale. This definitely has a cooler pink tone to it however I still don't feel that even on my skin tone it's too frosty. It's definitely the least natural for my skin tone. It's definitely a 'I want you to know I'm wearing highlighter right now' shade and I found this the most shimmery. However on fair skin tones this would look more natural.

Breathe is my absolute favourite, as you've probably heard me mention a couple of ten times! It's just the perfect shade for my skin tone and it looks so natural on. It just makes me look like I'm a glowing kind of girl...

Finally there's Glow. I think this is the perfect gold shade for darker skin tones. I love that such a budget brand is catering for everyone on the spectrum!

As I've said many times on this blog; I've never been a highlighter in the day kind of girl, however these products have converted me! The soft, smooth, fine texture means you can apply these for a nice daytime glow (yes, even for the office!) None of these have great big chunks of glitter, which is a major bonus for me as I hate when you can just see pieces of glitter on my face.

All in all I think these are an absolute must-have! I was one of those people resigned to using the same highlighter all the time because it's so hard to find something that's not seriously OOT, but I promise you these are perfection!

  1. I have breathe, and it's soo natural. I'm extremely pale, but it Works fine for me. What I like about this particular one is that you can use all over for a bit of glow, without looking like you dipped your face in highlighter or it can be used a Little more concentrated like a regular highlight. Great product.

  12. I'm in the US and I've become obsessed with all things Makeup Revolution (although shipping takes quite a while so I have to order a lot at one time). I've been dying to try these and I think you've sold me! I haven't tried the Hourglass palette either but from what I've seen, these seem very similar. I love your blog by the way- I visit all the time! :)

  17. A dupe of Hourglass ambient light you say? Oh why did you say that ... Do I need a highlighter? No - but I'm going to get Golden now. Oh and I totally agree - I'm so glad Makeup Revolution recognises both light and dark skin shades in consideration with their products (the one foundation is fantastic for light coverage). Anyway thanks for increasing my purchase list :) !
