2014 Year-End Favourites #4 || Eye Products

I'm a total eye product junkie so it was so hard to even narrow it down to these! I've got eyeshadows, tools, brow products and mascara in here for all budgets. There's way too much to swatch but I've linked to previous posts including them for most of these.

2014 was the year I discovered cream eyeshadows, and how amazing they are, so I've included the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze (£4.99) (I have 10+ of these so let me know if you'd like to see them all swatched), the KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in Golden Taupe (£6.90, review and swatch here) and the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze (£19). On and On Bronze is just a perfect dusky-but-warm shimmer which works as a base or on it's own for day or night. Golden Taupe is a cool-toned taupe-y shimmer which I love across the lid or on the lower lash line. Amber Haze is just the most stunning, deep golden-bronze-brown shimmery shade and in the line it's the night-time shade for brown eyes.

In terms of brow products; I found two at the start of the year that worked so well for me I've not really switched things up. The Sleek Brow Kit (£8.49) is included over Benefit's version as it works the same for me at a fraction of the cost (comparison/swatches here). I get  my eyebrow structure symmetrical with the wax and an angled brush then brush the powder through, filling in any gaps. My must-hage product to set them in place all day without leaving them stiff is the e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash and Brow Clear Mascara (£1.95) which is a total bargain. I do tend to get through the brow side really fast and not really use the clear mascara but it's still well worth it! Another affordable, indispensable product is the e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Sheer (£1.95). When I forgot to pack this for a week away recently I really appreciated the difference this little wonder product makes to eyeshadows. The main eyeliner I used was the e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in Black (£2.50, reduced from £3.95), which converted me from the much more expensive Bobbi Brown gel liners.

I am a palette junkie, which is why I've included so many in this post. The Urban Decay Naked (£33.50 reduced from £37, swatches here) of course has to be on there as there's everything you need for a daytime look or a smokey eye in the evening and I prefer the warm shades of the original. The Benefit World Famous Neutrals: Most Glamorous Nudes Ever (£23.50 swatches here) is also a favourite as the cream shadows in it are just gorgeous and although the powders aren't the most pigmented shades ever, I just love the look you can create with them. One I also have to put in there is the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Quad (£38), despite getting it for Christmas, as I'd wanted it so long and it's everything I'd hoped for! The shades are just so stunning and the red especially is really something.

This brings me on to the dupe of the Dolce Vita that I used so much at the end of the year; KIKO Queen of Hearts Eyeshadow Palette in 01 Essential Brown (£7.90 reduced from £14.90). You can see comparison swatches of the two here but I won't talk too much about this one as it's sold out! The next more affordable palette on my list is MUA Heaven and Earth (£4, swatches here). It may not get quite as much use from me these days but over summer it was a go-to and I used every single neutral shimmer shade. It's definitely they're best quality palette I've tried. Of course I have some Makeup Revolution in there! My favourites were I Heart Chocolate (£7.99, swatches here), which is an impressive dupe of Too Faced's Chocolate Bar and Flawless (£8, swatches here) which has 32 neutral shades that were so perfect for Autumn.

Almost done, I promise! Onto mascara; my daytime pick is the Collection Supersize Fat Lash (£2.50 from £2.99), for nighttime Benefit's They're Real (£19.50) and for a day-to-night, build-able formula the Bourjois 1 Seconde Mascara in Black (£9.99). You can read reviews of all three here.

Finally, my must-have tools are all from Real Techniques. I really love the Essential Crease Brush (from Sam's Picks, £29.99) to get some definition. The Base Shadow Brush is perfect for dusting cream or powder products right across the lid as well as blending and the Angled Shadow Brush is amazing at blending out harsh lines (both from Nic's Picks, £29.99). You can see a review of both sets here.

Congratulations if you managed to read all of that!

  9. So many natural eyeshadow colors! >.<

    I tend to choose natural colors when it comes to eyeshadows, but I guess I need to revise my color choice since sometimes other colors than browns are good to try as well. I'm waiting for my colorful palette to arrive as we speak ^^

    About Benefit They're Real, I'm still curious about its eyeliner and haven't put my hands on it yet since it's kinda pricey. Hopefully someday a miracle happens and I can eventually try it by my self :D #amentothat

    Nice post, Jasmine! x
