REVIEW || Nanshy Gobsmack Glamorous 5-Piece Face Brush Set

A good set of face brushes is just as important as a good concealer or foundation! I love my Real Techniques brushes but I fancied trying something different so I picked up the Nanshy White Gobsmack Glamorous 5-Piece Set in Pearlescent White.

The set costs £35 so averages out as £7 per brush; not bad at all! They're synthetic, cruelty free, vegan and endorsed by PETA. I think the look of the brushes is so sleek and stylish, they don't feel cheap in your hands at all. There are some lovely premium touches to them that really make them excellent value. They're also probably the softest brushes I own - they really feel lovely against your face. If you don't reckon you need the whole set then you can get all or most of these individually.

Concealer Perfector

Not really what you'd expect from a concealer brush, right? I kept an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. I use a creamy concealer so I swipe it under my eyes and dot it onto my blemishes then take this and use it to buff the concealer seamlessly into my foundation.

Buffed Base

Next up is the buffed base brush. I've realised that this is amazing for applying my Nars Tinted Moisturiser, so give it a go for light, runny bases. It can also work for face powders, especially blending in a contour.

Flawless Foundation

The flawless foundation brush was the one I was most looking forward to using and it works exactly as I had hoped! It creates such a flawless, pixel-perfect finish in hardly any time. You just swipe it across in circular motions and you have a swipe-mark-free finish.

Angled Airbrush

You can use this one either for powders or liquid products, as with all of these synthetic brushes. You may want to have it instead of the Flawless Foundation brush or to buff a contour in. When I've used a foundation brush that's not in this set the Angled Airbrush is good for getting rid of any brush strokes. However I find I don't need that using the Flawless Foundation. I tend to use it to blend in cream or liquid blushers (so I don't get the colour on my foundation brush) and I can tell you it works well for that too. This is probably my least-used brush purely because I can't find an everyday use for it, however that really isn't a reflection on it's quality.

Blush & Bronze

I love this brush! It doesn't matter if your blusher was £2 or £22; Blush & Bronze will apply it evenly the first time! I think it picks up a really good amount of product too so you're getting the product on there but you're not looking like a clown after one swipe.

And here is a makeup look using every one of these brushes, from Christmas Day:

So there you have it! I wasn't really sure what to expect with these but this is honestly a fab set. I'd especially recommend it for someone just starting to branch into 'proper' makeup brushes because it has everything you need for creating a flawless base and you can't really go wrong applying your makeup with these! Nanshy often run discount codes, I got 10% off so have a Google for deals, currently there's 'MASTERFUL10'. I also got a free gift with my purchase; the eyeshadow blending brush, which I can't wait to use! Plus there's free delivery over £30.
