Tuesday Thoughts: A Big Thank You, A Life Update & Musings on Blogging...

*CHEESY/CRINGE POST ALERT!*

My blog is now officially 6 months old! I also recently hit 350 Bloglovin followers and 450 on Twitter, which may not seem a lot but it made me look back at my first posts (in May, which feels like a lifetime ago). I can't believe how far I've come in terms of confidence and branching out into different things. The level of support I've received in the past month or two since my blog has started to take off a little has been just amazing. When I sat down to write my first blog post, not really knowing what I was doing or what to expect, I never would've thought I'd be where I am now!

So I just wanted to say a huuuuuge thank you, to all of you who read and comment. I can't tell you how much it means to me. Hopefully Magpie Jasmine can grow even further in the future :) I will definitely plan a big giveaway for all you lovely readers if I reach 500 followers over Christmas.

Onto my housekeeping; with me now in my new work role I'm not sure I'll be posting as much. I'll stick to daily when I can but every other day is probably more likely, as it's still very regular but I don't want to do rushed/half-arsed posts! I guess it's a case of seeing how it goes. The days are also getting shorter and I think it's important for me to do swatches in natural daylight, silly as that sounds!

I'd love if you guys let me know for beauty, fashion & lifestyle blogs:

* what are your favourite posts and why?
* what do you like in a blog (pictures, lots of info, swatches etc.)?
* what are your least favourite posts and why?
* what would you like to see more of on my blog?
* how often do you like new posts and at what time of day?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Congrats on 6 months of blogging and all you've achieved so far! I like a variety of posts and seeing the person behind the blog and their personalities shine through! I love lots of photos with swatches and the essential info. It doesn't really matter how many times you post, whatever works for you is fine with me. But I do prefer posts in the morning. Best of luck with the new job! x

  3. You've achieved so much so quickly! Your blog is one of my new favourites to read and I'm really glad to have found it and to have had the opportunity to meet you too :) I love reading beauty reviews, roundups and seeing fords - all of which you already do. Don't beat yourself up if you're really busy with your new job and can't post as often. I'll still be checking in for every new post :) xx

  4. Congratulations!! I love variety in posts - a total mix up, so it's not too samey. I think three times a week is a great benchmark and I usually post around dinner time (or morning on the weekend!)

    1. Thank you for the comment :) I'm thinking I'll probably schedule the posts so I can write them after work or on the weekends but they'll go live at a regular/predictable time xx

  7. Congratulations! :)

    * what are your favourite posts and why? I love lifestyle posts and blogging tip posts. Anything motivational or uplifting is a winner for me!
    * what do you like in a blog (pictures, lots of info, swatches etc.)? Lots of writing and pictures! I normally leave a post if there's a video.
    * what are your least favourite posts and why? Hmm...beauty product reviews. :(
    * what would you like to see more of on my blog? I love love love dresses so more dresses? :)
    * how often do you like new posts and at what time of day? I think the most important thing is to write for yourself and when best fits your schedule. However, mornings are good times to post so people can gradually read your post throughout the day. As for days of the week, any would do, just make sure you keep on promoting your posts.

I hope this helped. I don't actually have a fashion, beauty or lifestyle blog but enjoy reading them.

    1. I don't think beauty product reviews will be going anywhere as they're where I started and have always been the most popular posts on my blog. Thank you for feedback though! I have to write my posts in advance now so I've started scheduling them for in the morning so, as you say people can catch up throughout the day :) xx

  9. Your beauty posts are fab! I love big clear photos in a blog but that is just my preference. In regards to you being busy not let it become a chore. Just post whem you are ready and feel like it and you blog will keep shining then. Ps. Well done on six months you trooper xxx

    1. Thank you <3 and yeah that's exactly how I feel, I don't want it to become 'need to wash my hair, feed the cat, update the blog...' and posting less is the best way to keep things fun and manageable :) xx
