Best Of...Makeup Revolution

If you saw my Twitpic, you'll know my Makeup Revolution collection is pretty extensive! (And has grown since then...) Obviously I haven't tried every single product but these are my picks from the products I have. This new series will see me take a favourite brand of mine and whittle it down to their 5 products I think you have to try. This week is Makeup Revolution's turn...

5. Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer, £3

I'm not sure if this is a dupe of something, but I've personally never come across anything like this. It seriously makes your eyeshadow colours 'pop' and they will not shift all day.

4. Just Me in the Promised Land Eyeshadow Collection, £5

I'm a huge fan of the 'mono-eyeshadows', which cost £1 each and have fantastic colour payoff and are so creamy in texture. If you go on Makeup Revolution's website they have different collections of these eyeshadows where you get 6 for £5. I love Just Me in the Promised Land and if you love neutral shimmers you should check it out.

3. Flawless Eyeshadow Palette, £8

I'm totally in love with this. It's pretty much 'Autumn' in a palette! I travel a lot so I love how compact it is (no spongey applicators here!) and the big mirror. Plus it's so versatile for both day and night, I can easily take this away with me and that's endless eyeshadow looks sorted!

2. Vivid Blush Lacquer in Bloom, £3

I've got a few of these, which are dupes of Makeup Forever's HD Blush, but my favourite is 'Bloom'. It's the perfect muted peach that goes with just about anything and would suit a lot of different skin tones. I also love how the formula helps create a really natural flush. And all for £3!

Review & Swatches of Bloom here, post on the others coming soon

1. I Heart Makeup: I Heart Chocolate Eyeshadow Palette, £7.99

This has to be my #1 and it's one I find myself reaching for all the time. As you can see, it's a dupe of Too Faced's Chocolate Bar. I think the shades are just gorgeous! It's not your typical neutrals palette, it's something a bit different.

Honourable Mention(s): All Day & Night Eyeliner in the Last Laugh (the perfect brightening gold to go on your waterline) and the Iconic Eyeshadow Palettes (reviews and swatches here, here & here)

It's been quite an eye-product-heavy post, but if someone who'd never used their stuff asked me what they should try first, it would definitely be their eyeshadows! I hope this post helped you make your first or next Makeup Revolution purchase :)

Let me know what you think of my picks in the comments!

  4. I want to try their chocolate palette, as it's such a great dupe for the too faced one. Their baked blushes, bronzers and highlighters are really nice. Have you tried them? X

  6. I love the sound of the eyeshadow sealant and the HD blush (it kind of reminds me of the one from ELF). I'm planning on picking up a couple of their stick blushes (eventually) and I think I might get one of the HD ones whilst I'm at it xx

    1. I've tried the e.l.f. and I actually prefer the colours of these and unfortunately the e.l.f. one I received was all separated out :( I'm dying to get some of the blush sticks too. I was so annoyed they were released online the day after I placed my last order with them! xx

  12. Wow, your collection is pretty impressive looking at that picture! I can't believe I haven't tried any of their stuff yet and at the prices that they are, that's pretty inexcusable really! I love the look of the palettes (although I like the idea of a collection of mono shadows too) so I'm definitely going to have to have a look.
