This video seems to have been doing the rounds recently on social media, and there have been so many critical comments I thought I'd do a post from my point of view on why I myself (and I'm sure a lot of other girls) love makeup!
For me, this is the most important part. If I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't bother with it! I know for a lot of people it can be a bit of a chore, but not for me.
Not Everyone has Perfect Skin!
I think this is one of the main reasons why judging people for how much makeup they wear is so unfair. A lot of the critics seem to have even an skintone and no acne scars; that's pure genetics and not everyone is so lucky. Some people just want to feel comfortable and not as though they're being stared at, and until you've been through something like severe acne you really can't judge others. The Dermablend Camo Confessions (Cassandra here and Cheri's here) really highlight my point. And arguing that men like natural beauty is the lamest criticism ever! Do things for you, not so guys will like you!
It's an Artistic Expression!
I love beautiful colours and creating something. I also like the trial and error aspect of it; you learn to work with different colours and textures and you can see yourself gaining more and more skill.
Because I Do!
And last of all, no one owes it to anyone else to justify a personal decision like wearing makeup...
Why do you love makeup?
