Review: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint Autumn/Winter Shades

I've been pretty rubbish with nail polish the past few months, so I decided I'd turn over a new leaf for the new season and to get me started I got 3 of the new Barry M shades. I picked out Cocoa, Paprika and Mustard (£3.99 each) in the Superdrug 3 for 2 deal.
Disclaimer: I'm horrendous at applying nail polish. It genuinely looks like a 12 year-old did this. You've been warned...

I didn't own any of this line, so the entire Gelly finish is new to me. Overall the quality is pretty consistent across the range. They general stay on your nails without a base coat or top coat for about a day before they start chipping very slightly around the edges. I'd say they become noticeably chipped after 2-3 days. How long you can make them last with a top and base coat really depends on the quality of your top and base coats! I needed to use two layers for both Cocoa and Mustard, but I could've got away with one for Paprika.

This is how they looked on:

Cocoa

Paprika

Mustard

As you can see they're all super-shiny autumnal colours. There are several more in the range but these three were the ones that really appealed to me. It's also useful that they look in the bottle pretty much the same as how they look when applied with 2 coats. I really liked how fast they dried, which is something that usually puts me off wearing nail polish daily. The polish is a really nice consistency to work with and these are great for the price!

Are you all as lazy as me when it comes to doing your nails? ;)

  7. Ooo I might give these ago! My nail painting is awful and I always chip mine, about 20 minutes after doing them.
