CAUDALIE'S 3-STEP ANTI-BLEMISH SYSTEM

I'm sure regular readers will know that Caudalie is one of my favourite skincare brands! They've definitely had more of a focus on hydration with their products, so I was intrigued to see what they had to offer for oily / blemish-prone skin with the new Vinopure range...

Ok, so I have to start by saying that I have combination skin that can get pretty dehydrated in winter but definitely gets a lot of excess shine and oil during the summer. Being entirely honest, I don't think this range is 100% targeted at me for an everyday routine but I've been trying these products for a while and wanted to give my perspective. However bear my skin type in mind when considering this review!

Vinopure Blemish Control Infusion Serum* | £29 | This serum has a lightweight gel formula that absorbs quickly - it does leave a very slight tackiness on my skin, but nothing that would really put me off using this day-to-day. I think the texture is really good if you have oilier skin, as it isn't another heavy layer of skincare. I wouldn't say it's hydrating but it doesn't suck the moisture out of my skin either. It's made from 98% natural ingredients and the main components are salicylic acid and grape seed (to act as an antioxidant). If you don't know about salicylic acid; it's a BHA, meaning it chemically exfoliates the skin. What's special about BHAs is that they penetrate deeply into the pores, not only to help keep your skin clear but to help resurface and brighten your complexion, as well as to fade any blemish scars. I couldn't find the exact percentage in this formula, but based on my use of the product; I don't think it's going to be high. This is designed for everyday use and, although I definitely think this helps keep the spots at bay (I switch to it whenever I'm having a breakout), I didn't notice that my skin looked really bright or that any of my scarring had faded significantly (though I guess the breakouts I have had haven't scarred as much). I like this, but I don't love it; it isn't going to give dramatic results, but if you do suffer with breakouts and want something that will manage this on an everyday basis then I think it could work for you.

Vinopure Skin Perfecting Mattifying Fluid* | £25 | I do love Caudalie so it pains me to say this; but this moisturiser really didn't work for me! However I totally get that this isn't really formulated for my skin type so could work for other people. It's a gel-cream product that does give the skin a matte-look finish, however I find it pills up really badly on my skin no matter what primer / foundation combination I use. This meant it was too messy and difficult for me to carry on using it long enough to gauge whether it was helping my breakouts. Even if it did do something amazing; I just can't use a product in my routine that's not going to work with the makeup I've already invested in. This could work for you if you don't wear makeup, though. This moisturiser contains salicylic acid, grape and rosewater.

Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner* | £18 | For me; this was the star of the show and the product that's made it into my everyday routine and that I will absolutely buy with my own money when I run out of it. I'm a huge fan of AHA toners that use lactic or glycolic acid but I'd never tried a BHA acid toner before this. I also can't find the exact percentage of salicylic acid in this product unfortunately. I do feel a very mild sensation sometimes when I use this, so I do think there's probably a decent concentration in here. I'm just so happy with how clear my skin has been looking in the couple of months I've been using this for! I'm not really getting breakouts, those blemish scars are fading nicely and this is actually great if you get dry red patches of skin in the winter; I got some of this around my mouth and this cleared it up overnight when nothing else I'd tried did anything! I honestly can't recommend this enough if you currently or ever have had problem skin.

Have you tried anything from this range?
