The Effortless Holiday 6-Product Face

I'm kind of high-maintenance so going on holiday doesn't always mean going makeup-free however this is my version of a fuss-free holiday look. Funny story but I think I might be changing the date of my holiday to July, as the weather forecast isn't good for next week... But I will keep you posted and of course I will carry on with my daily holiday-themed posts this week!

For my base I go for the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (£29, post here), as it doesn't slip and slide even over my combination skin. I feel as though it nicely reduces any redness and evens my skintone whilst still being a really light coverage. I then also use the Maybelline Instant Eye Erase Concealer (£7.99, post here), as it's so easy to apply. It practically blends itself and really reduces my dark circles without being too heavy.

It was going to be a 5-product face however unfortunately my beloved e.l.f. brow gel and clear mascara is discontinued so I've found some alternatives. For eyelashes I have the Seventeen Clear Definition Mascara (£4.69). Personally I find wearing heavy black eye makeup really uncomfortable in the heat as it tends to melt, drip in my eyes and really irritate them! So for a subtle bit of something without the discomfort, I go for this. Obviously it's not going to give you 'wow' lashes but it's just a nice little boost. For my eyebrows I have the Eylure Brow Control & Shape Gel (£6.25) as I find a clear gel makes my brows look a little more groomed and fuller without going to the effort of filling them in. I also love that this doesn't leave my brows feeling stiff, it just gives a very natural hold.

Finally I have the Pixi Shea Butter in Honey Nectar (usually £8, currently £6) and the Seventeen Instant Glow Golden Bronze Shimmer Brick (£4.99). The Pixi lip balm is a really nourishing formula and the shade is a fuss-free natural nude. The Seventeen Shimmer Brick has seriously impressed me! I haven't tried the Bobbi Brown ones but I probably won't given how great Golden Bronze is in particular. You can swirl all the shades together and apply to the top of your cheekbones and brow bone to add a bit of colour and a natural, dewy glow. You could also take the individual shades to use as eyeshadow.

What's your go-to effortless holiday look?

  1. I am almost the same when I am away, around the pool I just don't bother but for days out and in the evening, it is just BB cream, mascara and a lipgloss type product :)
Hope you do get to go away and have been loving these posts :)

  2. Oh no, what a bummer with the weather! But I hope you'll manage to go on holidays as planned! BB/CC cream for hot, sunny days is the best alternative to foundations. I do have to wear mascara though as my lashes are pretty invisible without it, lol! x

  4. I think i'm pretty much in love with your blog :')
How is the eyebrow gel for you? Do you notice more fallout of the hair?
I get so worried with my brows, I only use shadow to fill them because I know using a pencil makes them fall out more. Never used a gel though!

  6. I love the new blog name and look Jasmine :) I tend not to wear too much makeup on holiday - I like to use the opportunity to give my skin a bit of a break. If we are going out in the evening, I might put on some BB cream, lippy and mascara but not too much more :)

  21. I've heard great things about most of these products! Especially the NARS tinted moisturizer. Lately I've been trying to get away from heavy powder and just do bb cream or tinted moisturizer and a little powder. I'm a new follower on bloglovin btw! Really like your site!
