As you may be aware; I own an unhealthy amount of makeup. So I thought it would be fun to do 'shopping my stash' posts every so often to chat to you about products I might not get to talk about all that often. First up is one of my favourite ever products: the Maybelline Colour Tattoos (£4.99 each).
Now I actually have a real life 9-5 these are a real time-saver. Personally I think they work best applied just with my finger. If I'm really pushed for time I'll just swirl my finger around a little across the surface and wipe across my eyelid, blending out any harsh lines. It takes a total of about 5 seconds! If I have a little more time I'll add a couple of powder shades on top, which really makes it look like you put in far more effort than you actually did. I have a fair few of these. Some of them are UK shades and some of them are US ones I bought on eBay (the ones with black lids - I'll link you to the seller). There has been a bit of shrinkage but the formula is fine. I actually picked up a couple more new UK shades, which I'll be posting on once I've had a chance to test them out.
Pure Nude isn't one I reach for often as it's very light and shimmery. I think paler skin tones could wear this a little better, however.
Beige-ing Beauty, I use less for similar reasons, though this is less bright and white and a lot more of a subdued beige.
Caramel Cool is just gorgeous! It's a really true caramel shade with a strong orange-gold undertone.
Nude Compliment is a cool taupe-grey, which I don't reach for so much as I prefer something warmer. However if you like the greys and silvers; this is for you!
On & On Bronze is my go-to, my essential, the one I'd rescue if all my Colour Tattoos were falling off a cliff...I wouldn't say it's really warm toned or really cool toned, which is probably why it works with just about every look. If you like a neutral shimmer you'll love this.
Sleek & Spice is quite similar to On & On Bronze but a little cooler and a little less shimmery. I still really like to use this one though.
Permanent Taupe I'm not really a fan of, as I find it too matte. It's a touch drying and just doesn't give the 'minimum effort, pulled together' look I want from these. It could work as a smokey eye base though. This is the only matte shade I own.
Eternal Gold, I must admit wasn't what I'd been expecting! I was expecting just a gold version of On & On Bronze but this is a very shimmery bright yellow-gold. It's also a lot less pigmented than the other shades, it's the only one I find a bit sheer.
Metallic Pomegranate is actually a really nice deep but vibrant red-purple. It is quite glittery and I don't reach for it that much as it's more of an evening look but give it a go for a smokey eye look.
I'm not sure about 24 hours but they've stayed intact for a good 12 on me! I love the creamy texture and the fact you have a good amount of time to blend them before they become 'tattoo-like'. They're just so pigmented and easy to wear, I can't recommend them enough. I can easily narrow down my favourites to On & On Bronze, Sleek & Spice and Caramel Cool.
Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Tattoos? Which are your favourite shades?
Wow you do have quite a few of these don't you. I have the on and on bronze and like you it is a firm fave for me when I am in a rush :)ReplyDelete
I love Metallic Pomegranate too that is a lovely colour!
Pams Stuff and Things
They're just such a great formula :) xxDelete
I love these but I definitely don't have as many as you. I love Caramel Cool and the two lighter shades, they look perfect for a little inner corner highlight!ReplyDelete
Sarah / Sarah Smiles
Yeah that's pretty much what I've ended up using them for! xxDelete
So jealous of your collection! I love the look of Metallic Pomegranate and Sleek & Spice! xoReplyDelete
Haha thank you - Metallic Pomegranate is a great one for evening and Sleek & Spice could work for day or night :) xxDelete
You've got quite a collection there!ReplyDelete
I don't own any of these but I might go and get some now!
I need some more items for my makeup bag!
You should definitely try at least one shade ;) xxDelete
I have three of the Tattoos but mainly use them as them as base for my powder eye shadow. I love the look of Caramel Cool, such a gorgeous, unique colour! xReplyDelete
Mummy’s Beauty Corner
Yeah I tend to do that as they just add something to the look even if you only use 1 or 2 powders on top :) xxDelete
I also did a post on the color tattoos! I love caramel cool and everlasting navy :) great post!ReplyDelete
Ooh I've not heard of that one but sounds lovely! xxDelete
That is quite the Collection. I only have one, "barely branded" I think it's called. I do really love these, but mine dried up within 7 months, wich was a Little too fast for my liking. I will get a new one though.ReplyDelete
What a shame! Not experienced that so far xxDelete
I still don't know why I haven't picked any of these up yet because they all look beautiful, especially the Pomegranate shade! I really think I'll go and pick some of these up very soon.ReplyDelete
On & On Bronze is a good place to start - that was my first! xxDelete
So jealous of the US having a ton more shades then we have with these. I love the look of Caramel Cool and Sleek&Spice, such gorgeous shades. Great collection xReplyDelete
Beauty with charm
I know right! Maybelline in general is so much more limited in the UK :( xxDelete
Oh my goodness!! I totally love Caramel Cool and it definitely looks right up my street!! starting to haunt it down as we speak...I love your collection!!...xxReplyDelete
Thank you lovely! And yeah it's a really unique shade xxDelete
I love the look of Caramel Cool, its my kinda shade! I don't own any of these, I don't think I've even swatched them but they sound amazing for saving time in the morning! xoxReplyDelete
It's really lovely - definitely grab a few they're such a time-saver! xxDelete
I love my On and On Bronzer Color tattoo, think it's way better than my Mac paint pots and reach for it 9 times out of 10 if I want something easy! Like you say it's a daily essential kinda makeup itemReplyDelete
I really want to get Permanent Taupe as well :) looks lovely and matte
I've never actually tried the MAC Paint Pots but I can't see how they can be worth almost 4x the price! xxDelete
I'm so jealous! I have 6 shades, but at our county I can't get a lot of shades that you featured in this post. I would really like Caramel Cool ans Sleek&Spice:). Gorgeous shades!:) On and On Bronze is also my favorite color:).ReplyDelete
Definitely try eBay if you fancy some others :) On & On Bronze is still my fave too :) xxDelete
I love these! You have some gorgeous shades. On and On Bronze and Metallic Pomegranate are my favourites. I'm looking forward to seeing the US shades when i'm over there.ReplyDelete

Yeah you should definitely stock up whilst you're over there! xxDelete
I absolutely love these! I own the 'Eternal Gold', 'Permenant Taupe' and 'Pink Gold'. I must admit, like you, I struggle with the eternal gold as it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I tend to just put a bit in the inner corner of my eye to soften up a heavy make up look. I really want to get my hands on the 'On and On Bronze', I've wanted it for a while now and your swatch looks lovely! Another great post!ReplyDelete
Abi | RamblingsofaBlonde
I might try using it for that too :) and thank you - glad you enjoyed! xxDelete
This is such a good collection of them! I have three - Emerald which I don't wear often, Bad to the Bronze which I wear multiple times a week, and Inked in Pink which I wear fairly often. I also have a 9-5 and these are so easy to just slap on. I like the look of some of your shades but I haven't seen that range here in NZ.ReplyDelete
Ooh I haven't seen Emerald or Inked in Pink! xxDelete
Lovely collection! I need to get my hands on metallic pomegranate!ReplyDelete

Thank you :) xxDelete
I've never even heard of these before but you've got me so excited to try them! I don't know how I've missed them? Your swatches look lovely, they'll definitely be getting added to my payday wishlist!ReplyDelete
Definitely get 1 or 2 in your life! xxDelete
I love the Maybelline Color Tattoos! I pretty much always wear them without a powder shadow on top - I just think that the colours are too pretty to waste as bases... My favourite is Pink Gold but I do love On and On Bronze too. Definitely need to try more of this range! xxReplyDelete
I really want Pink Gold! xxDelete
I always completely forget that I have these in my stash! I used to use them all the time, I don't know why I stopped now I think about it, I might even head out and invest in some more...ReplyDelete
Haha! They're the perfect thing to grab when you're in a rush :) xxDelete
These are by far one of my favorite eye products! I find that they are so easy to work with, and the shades are pretty much all gorgeous! I would have to say the one I gravitate the most too would have to be Bad to the Bronze. Really any bronze shade I am in love with! Seeing some of these colors definitely makes me want to find some more of them though!ReplyDelete
Becky, xx // undertheseabeauty.blogspot.ca
Me too - it's just the perfect shade you can grab without even thinking about it! xxDelete
I've still not tried these! I'm gonna have too get some soon! I love the look of 'on and on bronze' but tbh they are look so beautiful. Thanks for sharing, I loved this post and how you broke the colours down :)ReplyDelete
Definitely do - On & On Bronze is a must-have :) xxDelete
Wow, you've got such a great collection. On and on bronze is my absolute favourite. xReplyDelete
