Shopping my Stash #1 || My Maybelline 24-Hour Colour Tattoo Cream Gel Eyeshadows (With Swatches)

As you may be aware; I own an unhealthy amount of makeup. So I thought it would be fun to do 'shopping my stash' posts every so often to chat to you about products I might not get to talk about all that often. First up is one of my favourite ever products: the Maybelline Colour Tattoos (£4.99 each).

Now I actually have a real life 9-5 these are a real time-saver. Personally I think they work best applied just with my finger. If I'm really pushed for time I'll just swirl my finger around a little across the surface and wipe across my eyelid, blending out any harsh lines. It takes a total of about 5 seconds! If I have a little more time I'll add a couple of powder shades on top, which really makes it look like you put in far more effort than you actually did. I have a fair few of these. Some of them are UK shades and some of them are US ones I bought on eBay (the ones with black lids - I'll link you to the seller). There has been a bit of shrinkage but the formula is fine. I actually picked up a couple more new UK shades, which I'll be posting on once I've had a chance to test them out.

Pure Nude isn't one I reach for often as it's very light and shimmery. I think paler skin tones could wear this a little better, however.

Beige-ing Beauty, I use less for similar reasons, though this is less bright and white and a lot more of a subdued beige.

Caramel Cool is just gorgeous! It's a really true caramel shade with a strong orange-gold undertone.

Nude Compliment is a cool taupe-grey, which I don't reach for so much as I prefer something warmer. However if you like the greys and silvers; this is for you!

On & On Bronze is my go-to, my essential, the one I'd rescue if all my Colour Tattoos were falling off a cliff...I wouldn't say it's really warm toned or really cool toned, which is probably why it works with just about every look. If you like a neutral shimmer you'll love this.

Sleek & Spice is quite similar to On & On Bronze but a little cooler and a little less shimmery. I still really like to use this one though.

Permanent Taupe I'm not really a fan of, as I find it too matte. It's a touch drying and just doesn't give the 'minimum effort, pulled together' look I want from these. It could work as a smokey eye base though. This is the only matte shade I own.

Eternal Gold, I must admit wasn't what I'd been expecting! I was expecting just a gold version of On & On Bronze but this is a very shimmery bright yellow-gold. It's also a lot less pigmented than the other shades, it's the only one I find a bit sheer.

Metallic Pomegranate is actually a really nice deep but vibrant red-purple. It is quite glittery and I don't reach for it that much as it's more of an evening look but give it a go for a smokey eye look.

I'm not sure about 24 hours but they've stayed intact for a good 12 on me! I love the creamy texture and the fact you have a good amount of time to blend them before they become 'tattoo-like'. They're just so pigmented and easy to wear, I can't recommend them enough. I can easily narrow down my favourites to On & On Bronze, Sleek & Spice and Caramel Cool.

Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Tattoos? Which are your favourite shades?

  7. That is quite the Collection. I only have one, "barely branded" I think it's called. I do really love these, but mine dried up within 7 months, wich was a Little too fast for my liking. I will get a new one though.

  15. I absolutely love these! I own the 'Eternal Gold', 'Permenant Taupe' and 'Pink Gold'. I must admit, like you, I struggle with the eternal gold as it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I tend to just put a bit in the inner corner of my eye to soften up a heavy make up look. I really want to get my hands on the 'On and On Bronze', I've wanted it for a while now and your swatch looks lovely! Another great post!

  16. This is such a good collection of them! I have three - Emerald which I don't wear often, Bad to the Bronze which I wear multiple times a week, and Inked in Pink which I wear fairly often. I also have a 9-5 and these are so easy to just slap on. I like the look of some of your shades but I haven't seen that range here in NZ.

  19. I love the Maybelline Color Tattoos! I pretty much always wear them without a powder shadow on top - I just think that the colours are too pretty to waste as bases... My favourite is Pink Gold but I do love On and On Bronze too. Definitely need to try more of this range! xx

  21. These are by far one of my favorite eye products! I find that they are so easy to work with, and the shades are pretty much all gorgeous! I would have to say the one I gravitate the most too would have to be Bad to the Bronze. Really any bronze shade I am in love with! Seeing some of these colors definitely makes me want to find some more of them though!
