Things I Loved This Week #1

I thought I'd be fun to do a round-up each week of the things I've been loving. Whether that's TV, fashion, beauty or anything else!

In terms of products I've rediscovered my Benefit World Famous Neutrals Kit (£23.50, review here) in a big way. I'm remembering why I was so obsessed with it at the start of summer. For my lips I've been loving the the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum (£7.99, review here) and the MAC Matte Lipstick in Taupe (£15.50, swatch here). I love putting on Sugar Plum during the day, as it's so low-maintenance and cute. As for Taupe, I get so many compliments on this shade; it wasn't one I loved straight away but it really is the perfect nude for me. A shower gel seems a really lame thing to get excited about but the Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Shower Gel (£4) is just amazing. It's really hydrating and the fragrance is amazing!

I managed to leave my MAC Studio Fix Fluid at my boyfriend's, so I'm separated with it for another week still. In the meantime I've been making use of my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, which I've been using the Real Techniques Stippling Brush (£11.50) to apply. It's not the quickest method but the finish you can achieve is flawless. I've been really pleased with my Collection 2000 Super Fat Lash Mascara (£2.99), it's the perfect level of volume for the daytime and doesn't clump. For blusher I've been loving the Sleek Blush in Suede (£4.50, swatch here); it's really subtle and very hard to get wrong. When I'm not using the Benefit kit, I've been loving the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze (£4.99) as a base. I've been road-testing this range all week, but my favourite is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Mustard (£3.99). This is already my go-to Autumn nail colour!

In terms of clothes, I'm totally in love with my ASOS Rivington High Waist Denim Jeggings in Clean Black (£25). I love the River Island Molly Jeggings, but the black ones fade so quickly. I'm happy to have found an alternative that's cheaper (especially considering the student discount) and feels just as good. I also like that ASOS offer a 34" leg in their regular styles, meaning I get more choice and girls even taller than me can get a 36" leg in the Tall section. I don't ever see myself going back to conventional jeans, they feels so stiff and uncomfortable in comparison!

I've done some serious marathoning and finished the first series of Orange is the New Black and started on the second. This is one of those shows I can't believe I didn't watch sooner! It really finds the humour in the darkest, most depressing situations. My favourite characters are Alex, Poussey, Nicky and Crazy Eyes.

I've been a bit off the Weeknd this past year or so, but the tracks he's released the past couple of months have been pretty good! I'm rediscovering his mix tapes as well as listening to his very recent material. I've also got really into the book I'm reading at the moment, Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I went into this pretty blind, and it's probably best to only have the vague idea that it's about book burning than read the very spoiler-y Amazon summary! It was quite hard to get through the first half, as it's quite bizarre how all the characters act and think, but that's kind of the point and once this clicks with the main character things get very interesting...

So, what do you think of my picks and what have you guys been loving this week? :)

    1. All the shades in these kits are also available for individual purchase. I really like the kits as you get creams and powders and they're easy to use.

The Glamorous kit is mostly shimmers, the Basics kit has more mattes and the Sexiest kit is completely different as it's silvery smokey eyes. I'd say Basics is more daytime, Sexiest is more nighttime and Glamorous can be both. But you can do the individuals if you like some from one of the kits and some from another :)

      Hope this helped! xx
