Some Boots & Superdrug Bits: Soap and Glory, MUA & More

Although I'm currently under austerity measures, my office is right near Boots and Superdrug, so I couldn't resist having a little look!

So here's what I bought....

From Superdrug I got two of MUA's £1 matte lipsticks, in the shades Fawn Fancy and Lilac Belle. I also got one of their £3 Velvet Lip Lacquers in Halcyon. Although they seemed to have re-stocked from when I was in there a couple of days ago, they still didn't have Shade 11, which I've been after for a while. My first impressions of the matte lipsticks are that they're great quality! The formula is so smooth, they just glide on. I liked the formula of the Lip Lacquer, but there was no tester out and it was really hard to tell the colour through the packaging. I chose Halcyon because it seemed the most brown, but I'm not quite sure if it's right for me... Lilac Belle is lovely but it's a crazy colour for me, that's why £1 lipsticks are so great: you're free to experiment!

Superdrug were running a 2 for £5 deal on Schwarzkopf products, and I was running low on my hair serum. Seeing as that was £3.99 alone, I also got their heat protection spray. I've used both of these products before and had good experiences.

I was after Soap and Glory's Perfect Day Lipstick after seeing Jaydee Stone talk about it on her channel. Then I remembered I'd wanted the Lid Stuff in Off the Wallflowers too. The Boots I was in was pretty poorly stocked, so to take advantage of the 3 for 2 on Soap and Glory makeup, I ordered into store and it arrived the next day! The third (free) product I chose was Marvelips in As Good As Nude. It looked positively red when it arrived, I hope it's more of a nude when applied.... I'd also been wanting the well-reviewed, very cheap but always poorly-stocked Vitamin E eye cream (which was 1/3 off on top of the already excellent price - £1.69 from £2.54). I got a little Origins sample for free with my order too, which was nice. My only issue with this order is that the packaging for Off the Wallflowers looked pretty scratched and dirty. It's not the end of the world, but one of the main reasons I order low-cost beauty items online is because they should be in better condition than the ones that have been in the shops and handled by multiple customers.

Reviews are on their way :)
